Blue power light constantly on...

So the blue convergence was going out on the tv, I powered it off, and the next time I tried to turn it on the blue power light was constantly on and when the power button was pushed, the tv didnt turn on, didnt do anything. I didnt mess with it in between these two seperate problems. I took out the convergence board (power unplugged, and from the front of the unit) and replaced the 110's with 150's, a local repair shop did the replacing. I put it back in the tv...and the same problem: blue power light constantly on, no response from pushing the power button. I unplugged the convergence board to see if that was the problem and tried powering it on again...and again, nothing. Whats going on here?

My Samsung LE32N7 does not come on. The blue light under the screen constantly flashes without the tv coming on.

Hi, maybe the TV controller board is blocked, you can reset it, by disconnecting power cable from outlet for about 5 minutes, if that doesn't work, possibly and internal board or component must be repaired of replaced, in such case it's better to contact an authorized Samsung service center or technician to check your TV.

Shuts off then flashes power light

I think this is a power problem, check the power supply for bulging or leaking electrolytic capacitors or other damaged components.

I have a Sony kp53xbr35 rp tv, the problem is that i turn it on the lights begin to turn on. the screen turns blue to blue green then red and the tv shuts off. i can still get sound but no picture. the...

Projection sets have two very common problems outlined below.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. The TV can also shut down when the convergence starts to fail.

Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith, RCA and others.

You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from TV Repair Kits using the link at the end of this article.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped or bowed
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

TV WAS WORKING FINE, TURNED IT OFF, THEN TURNED IT ONTHE NEXT DAY

Your tv might have a defective power supply, and/or convergence circuit. The initial cause of the problem, if it is the convergence circuit, is usualy a loose conection on one or two jumpers close to the convergence output circuits (STK392-1110), in with case this chips might need to be replaced and a pico fuse of 5A on the power supply too. I hope this help you.

PT-47WX53G wont turn on 3 blinking lights from the power area.

If the red power LED is blinking 3 times--it is most likely a shorted convergence IC---the only way you can be sure is to remove the light box--I can tell you how by email--and unsolder the two STK-392-110 ic chips----they are on two heat sinks made of aluminum next to each other; if you open the back cover and find them you will see about a dozen blue(light blue) resistors marked 2.2 ohm----if any of those are some what white in the middle(discolored) they are gone and the set will never adjust until you replace them and the two convergence IC chips---What I usually do in this case is remove the light box and unsolder both IC chips and plug it in and turn it on---if the set now comes on and stays on--I replace the IC chips and adjust the set---I have done hundreds of these sets---3 blinks is almost always a bad convergence IC--if this was helpful give me a vote---AND IF YOU NEED DIRECT ASSISTANCE contact me at:

Red,Blue,Green Image

YOu have convergence issues. Ok first question. IN your setup menu do you have the convergence option/ if you DO not then it can be a specail fusable link. fl231 if you do. next question do the picture bow in at the middle. if you do then it possibly a convergence power supply issue. next if you go into setup convergence does the crosshairs adjust up or down left to right on both blue and red. I if so then theres is a chance that it can be a convergence adjusment or a amplifer problem AS always THIS SET CAN GENERATE LEATHAL 380 VOLTS EVEN WITH SET UPLUGED SO BE CAREFULL.

Tv repair

My Tv was doing the same thing, and I had to unplug the set in order to get rid of the blinking light. And what i did was to turn the power on and as soon as i saw the picture i turned it off, I did this 5 times and on the 6th time I let it power and tv stayed on, however something did happend to my set, i found that my convergence was wacky. Tried to center convergence but i could not center the blue. Turns out, i think the problem is with my Convergence ICs that went bad. I can still watch tv but the Image has blue color shadows and the picture slightly bows inwards from top and bottom. To sum this up, i will need to replace 2 ICs, IC C5AA00000203, and this should fix my problem. I will do this repair myself, each part is about $41..

Let me know what happened to your problem.
Thanks
Tony

Seemed to Fix Convergence problem; Now TV power doesnt work.

You need to check first for solder splashes or bridges created when the new Ic's were installed, the next thing to check is a disconected conector or might not in place fully and then check for loose conections in the main board, all that movement might have loosen something more than before, check the horizontal driver transformer, the horizontal output transistor.Be careful
