I have just replaced the control module on our washing machine. But I have had problems programming it, I have followed the instructions but it didn't seem to work. Now the machine as got some sort of programme but it doesn't seem to match what it should be, so it seems to be doing whatever it wants.
I need to know how to cancel the programme and try to start the programming again.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks
Andrew

This is what your manual says about this fault code:
(00000101) Phase 1 - Communications Fault
The Display Module has had difficulty communicating with the Motor Control Module
Primary Source: Display Module.
Action: Turn off at the wall and on again after 5 seconds
and try again.
1. Check connections of the 12 way harness for
bad contacts, corrosion etc.
2. Check for moisture in the console area. Dry
out if necessary.
3. If still faulty, replace the Display Module.
4. If still faulty, replace the Motor Control
Module. If the new Motor Control Module
corrects the fault, then refit the original Motor
Control Module
Has to be programmed ,yes .
Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement
If the BCM is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the subsequent order:
• BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
• Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent.
A new body control module (BCM) must be programmed with the proper regular production option (RPO) configurations. The BCM stores the information regarding the vehicle options and if the BCM is not properly configured with the correct RPO codes, the BCM will not control all of the features properly. The Tech 2 software will automatically prompt you with the RPO available for the vehicle. Ensure that the following conditions exist in order to prepare for BCM programming:
• The battery is fully charged.
• The ignition switch is in the ON position.
• The data link connector (DLC) is accessible.
• All disconnected modules and devices are reconnected before programming.
To setup a new BCM, access the Vehicle Control Systems in Computer/Integrating Systems menu on the scan tool to program the BCM. Select Module Replacement/Setup and follow the instructions on the scan tool.
If the BCM fails to accept the program, perform the following steps:
• Inspect all BCM connections.
• Verify that the scan tool has the latest software version.
Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement and Reprogramming
If the BCM is replaced or requires reprogramming, the following procedures must be performed in the specified order:
BCM Setup -- Using a scan tool, go to Vehicle Control Systems » Computer/Integrating Systems » Module Setup » Body Control Module. Select Setup BCM and follow the on-screen instructions, making sure to select the proper RPOs and input the VIN correctly.
BPP Sensor Calibration--Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration
Program Key Fobs--Refer to Transmitter Programming
Setup SDM Part Number in BCM -- Using a scan tool, go to Vehicle Control Systems » Computer/Integrating Systems » Module Setup » Body Control Module. Select Setup SDM Part Number in BCM and follow the on-screen instructions.

indesit washing machines are only made to last just outside the guarentee period these days as the drums are sealed to stop you replacing the drum bearings. much better to buy a reconditioned Hotpoint wm62 they also wash much quicker than any new machine
yes motor controller module blew, check pump windings for and discolouation before fitting new module the pump can blow you module,
PS always switch off at wall when not in use
there are no others sensors in the drum, the module (a circuit board) controls the actions of the timer, it may be one or so wires were disturbed at the time of repair, check all connections, any out of balance sensors would only work with a heavy loaded drum?
You did not comment as to the motor / drum action when washing from the start of the cycle?
