Where is the touchpad lock on the Hp probook laptop.

Hi.

Turn off the touchpad Most HP notebooks come with an on/off button near the touchpad. If you do not wish to use the touchpad at this time, press this button. Press it again when you wish to use this accessory again. If the notebook does not have an on/off button for the touchpad, touch and hold the top-left corner of the touchpad for approximately 5 seconds to disable it and do this again to activate it. When the touchpad is disabled, a small light will illuminate on the touchpad and an icon will appear briefly of the touchpad with a line through it. When the touchpad is activated, a small light will turn off on the touchpad and an icon will appear briefly of the touchpad. Alternatively, if the notebook does not have an on/off button for the touchpad, and you wish to turn the touchpad off, open the Mouse Properties window, select the Device Settings tab, and click the Disable button. You may re-enable the touchpad from here at any point.

Regards.

My touchpad will not work at all on my dell latitude laptop

Unless the Dell is fairly new, the touchpad cannot be turned off. If you have a special function key that shows a pic of a touchpad with a line through it, you use that key in conjunction with the Fn key. This combo turns the touchpad on and off.
If it doesn't work, then you may have a faulty touchpad. This means that either the touchpad data ribbon has come unattached or the actual circuits that control it are bad.

Touchpad off

You can find a small button on the touchpad, make sure that it is turned on. If it is turned on and still the touchpad is off, then the issue might be with the corrupted touchpad drivers. We can try by reinstalling the touchpad drivers

Touchpad not workin at all

u can turn on or turn off the touchpad functionality of ur notebook..what must have happened is u would have turned off the touchpad of ur notebook by mistake & now u dont know how to turn it on....The key to turn on the touchpad can be different on different notebooks...so it would have been easier for me to provide u a resolution if u would have also mentioned the model of ur notebook... Generally there is a small button just beside the touchpad which is used to turn or off the tochpad, if the small button is amber in color then the touchpad is turned off & if its blue in color then touchpad is on...otherwise sometimes there is no button beside the touchpad & then there is a key combination to turn on or off the touchpad & it is Fn+F7....
try this out, it might work for u, if it works then let me know by rating this solution...

How do i turn on my touchpad

if there is not a buttom around the area of the touchpad to turn it on, then maybe, either the touchpad driver may not be installed, or the touchpad on/off switch (in the control panel) may not be turned on.
