Sam88kid, Change the magenta image unit (part no.4047-603)? I've changed the IU itself are you suggesting it has a separate waste part?
The C531 uses 4 toner cartridges and 4 corresponding imaging units. Each imaging unit has a waste compartment for the residue toner not transferred to the Image Transfer Belt (the waste bottle is for waste from this ITB). The residue toner could be reused.
It does not sound right that after 3-4K pages you have to change the IU. Just to be sure the IU you replaced looks like this?

Each IU should last about 50K pages (ie to be replaced after 5 toner cartridges).

Changed it 3 times and only works for a short duration with new IU.....3-4 thousand prints.
The tech is supposed to show up today, can I update the firmware myself and how do I check it? The reason I ask is I'm not sure he will show up as calls are not being returned. (Bought the machine from them W/O service contract and well, they are not to receptive to my needs)
How do I check the tube from the toner to the IU if it might be plugged, that sounds like this might be my problem here.......
If my problem was the tube from the toner to the image unit......how do I get to that to see if it is plugged?
