Takes my LG tv 8 -10 trys before it will turn on with a picture

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.

The fact that you have no menu or onscreen display, leads me to believe that it is the main logic board. Either the processor ic or the voltages going to the main board are missing. Check to see if the main board is getting 5v and 3.3v to determine if it is your power supply not supplying the voltages or your main board.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board...
If the capacitors is faulty your TV turn on after a lot of attempt until the TV is totally turn on...
In that case you need to replace the bad capacitors on the power supply..
How can you find where is the faulty capacitors? The bad capacitors is usually leak/bulged on top in that case you easily find it through visual check...

Change the power supply board. Do a google, ebay or shopjimmy.com search with your model number for price and availibility. Be sure to match the numbers from your board to theirs. Take the back off the set and trace the power supply via the AC plug up wires.

when you turn TV on, watch to see if the Lamp Fan is running,if it stops when Lamp trys to light then set will not come on.which then means Lamp Fan is defective.

I am having the same problem with my LG 60" plasma. However, now it will not come on at all? Have you found out what the problem is?

red light is on, but when the tv is turned on, it immediately shut down and goes back to the red light setting. It is like it blows a fuse or something to that effect.Post Solution

Theres a short between the start-up processor signal on the interface board and power supply. It keeps sending the same start-byte over and over again to the power board. This could also be a DC high voltage shutdown on the power board its self. Now the tv is in protection mode to prevent further damage. Get it serviced at your local repair center. If its under warranty take it back.

Bad IHVT ( aka flyback transfomer) replace with 257805 ? or

It's one of the protection overload circuits connected to the high voltage power supply. I would take it to a repair shop and let them fix it for $200.00. A TV is no place for a novice. Even if its unplugged, it can seriously hurt you.
