Since 2 days, when I pushed the mute button on my pc (Compaq Presario), I can't hear anything anymore. Can you help me?
(I have Vista)
Double click the little speaker in the lower right corner and unmute the speakers. if there is no speaker in the corner there will be a greater than button (<) and you should see the speaker
look for a speaker with lines through it on your keyboard. press the Fn button and on mine it is F2

from what i can find you need to push the mute button you said is on your keyboard and if that does not work you can try to restart and push it again (if the computer is still muted) if it still does not work there is something wrong with the computer itself

Thank you... I tried but it didn't work. The light on the mute button seems freezed. However when I doubled clik the little speaker in the lower right corner it said it wasn't muted, so I clicked the mute button and then it said it was mute. I reclick on the button and I put some music, but no sound, and the light is still there.
(I have a laptop)

Once again, it didn't work. I mean, unfortunatly I think I don't have this speaker on my keyboard. =S
It never happened before, maybe I locked something.

Thank you. The computer is still muted...(the light on the mute button is still there and I can't hear anything....).
Finally I think I'll go to Staples, (or somewhereelse), to ask an informatician to fix it. (I even tried to take out the battery and then put it back, restart the compu, but nothing again, the button is still light.)
