Screaming static i have a 42 in polaroid flat screen lcd tv. whenever i turn it on lately i get a loud static sound from speakers in the tv. the more white that is on the screen, the louder the static, to the point of obliterating the spoken word on whatever program. with vol completely down, still very loud static if white screen. will lessen if programing picture is dark, will cease with mute button. thank you, jd
Try turning off different lights near the room or in the room that it is in. Our tv does that if the overhead light in our bedroom is on, it's a room right next to our living room.

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.
A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?
Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.
Do you have to turn the TV off and then on again to get the sound prob to go away? Our sound problem happens 10 to 15 x per day depending on how long the TV is on.
This is a well-known problem with many Polaroid FP displays. Eventually, the picture will simply go black, rendering the TV useless. The solution is a new control board, ~$400.
