Both TV and receiver/speakers are new. I've connected the cables from the TV audio out to the receiver audio in. The receiver and speakers work on radio setting but will not produce sound from the TV.
Any suggestions appreciated....
Be more specific!...how is the tv hooked up? hdmi, component, straight to the tv, or into the amp then tv?....what audio out? optical, digital? also what are you trying to view? local programming? cable/sat? dvd? your best bet is to ignore video on the amp and go straight to tv. can't help u more until i have more specifics.

Actually, I finally figured out that it was the programing of the received that was causing my problem. The hookup was fine, but the yamaha manual is very difficult to understand on the programing/operation portion. BTW... the TV sounds great thru the receivers and speakers.
On my receiver it shows I have only my front left & right speakers hooked up. I hear sound through all of my speakers when using analog cables. I went and purchased the top of the line optical monster cable to run straight from my receiver to my samsung 23" LN-T23454H. I am just trying to get my 5.1 digital surround sound and I am about to throw the thing through the window. Super simple. Optical cable plugged into DTV/CBL going straight into my TV's Digital Optical Out port. HELP!
I have my tv and reciever hooked up by HDMI and I have optical audio cable running from the tv straight into the reciever. The sound cuts out for a second and then comes back on...is there anyway to fix this or have a I wasted my money on the optical cable???
