SOURCE: Tethering

You can use bluetooth and set the phone as a modem using DUN, dial up networking. You have to change the modem properties by adding an initialization string in additional commands. This is all easily done, but not worth the trouble with a Tundra. The problem is the Tundra won't stay connected. ATT has done something that makes the phone disconnect every 2-3 minutes and it's a pain. I'm going to go back to my old phone because of this. I love the phone, but I've gotta have my internet, and I'm not willing to pay $60/month more to ATT

Maybe you need a (phone) network receiver in your computer to receive the mobile network signals directly from cricket, either a card or a USB 'dongle'. I don't know why your Galaxy won't tether.

How do i get my sprint phone to work on wi-fi ?

sprint phone or samsung ?
Sprint offers high-speed WiFi service for existing Nextel customers, and provides an extensive network of hotspots in the United States at locations commonly frequented by business travelers, such as hotels, airports and conference centers.
Getting Sprint WiFi requires a Nextel customer account, connection-management software, a MyNextel user account and a computer that supports high-speed broadband.
Sprint WiFi plans include an unlimited WiFi hotspot and an unlimited PC access plan with a WiFi hotspot package.

Sign up for WiFi service through Nextel by calling 1-800-SPRINT1.
Download and install the Nextel Connection Manager software.
Nextel offers the WiFi version of the connection-management software at the Sprint Nextel website (see Resources).

Samsung Epic 4G Phone into a Wi-Fi Hotspot

The Samsung Epic 4G smart phone allows you to convert your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot and connect up to five devices.
Such a set-up will keep you from running around searching for an area that offers free Wi-FI. If you're stuck in an airport or staying overnight at a hotel, you won't have to pay extra for Internet service.
You can connect your laptop or other media device to your phone's Wi-Fi network.

Press the "Home" button, which looks like the outline of a house, on the bottom of your Samsung Epic 4G phone.
Click the "Menu" button to the left of the "Home" button.

Click the "Settings" icon, which looks like a gray box with a spoke in the middle.

Scroll through the list and click "Wireless & Networks."

Press "4G" until a check mark appears, indicating the 4G network is enabled.

Click the "Home" button.
The 4G icon will appear to the left of your signal bars in the upper-right corner of your screen.
The separate sets of bars above the 4G logo indicate the strength of your 4G signal.
When the bars above the 4G logo are completely gray and the 4G logo is white, you have a weak signal.
When you are no longer receiving a 4G signal, your 4G logo will be gray and a 3G logo will appear, indicating that the 3G network is now enabled. If both of the logos disappear, you are not receiving any signal.
You must have either a 3G or a 4G signal to use your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Enable Sprint Hotspot
Press the "Applications" icon, a blue box with four whites squares in it, in the lower-right corner of your Samsung Epic 4G phone.

Press the "Sprint Hotspot" icon, which looks like a phone with two signal bars on the right side, until a check mark appears to the right of the icon, signaling the Spring hotspot function is enabled.
A pass-key allowing you to connect other devices to the phone's network will appear on the screen.
Write the pass-key down.

Enable Wi-Fi on your laptop or other device that you want to tether to your Samsung Epic 4G phone.

Search for the Wi-Fi network affiliated with your Samsung Epic 4G phone.
The name of the network will begin with "SPH-D700XXX."
To change the name of the Wi-Fi network affiliated with your Samsung Epic 4G phone, press the "Menu" button; the "Settings" icon; and "Device Name." Enter the new name for phone's Wi-Fi network.

Click the network affiliated with your Samsung Epic 4G phone on the device you want to tether to your phone'ss Wi-Fii network.
Enter the pass-key, and click "OK."
Your device will now be tethered to the Wi-Fi hotspot on your Samsung Epic 4G phone.

Tablet will not connect to wifi

When you tether with your Android-powered smartphone, you can connect to the Internet on your computer from any location covered by your cellphone service provider's network. Tethering allows your phone to act as a modem for the computer. Tethering applications such as Tether for Android allow you to set up tethering without the need to root your phone. Before tethering, check with your cellphone service provider to determine how much data you are allowed to use without incurring data charges. Excessive use of the Android phone as a modem can cause you to exceed your allotted data.

Search the Android Market on your phone for a tethering application. Applications such as EasyTether and PdaNet are available to download for free. Download the application from the Market. Installation begins immediately after the download. When installation finishes, an icon for the tethering app is placed on the Android's expanded home screen. Open a Web browser on the computer and access the site specified in the tethering application's description in the Market. Download and install the USB drivers needed to tether from the site. When installation is finished, an icon for the tethering application is placed on the computer's desktop. Tap "Settings" on your Android phone, then tap "Applications." Tap "Development" and enable "USB Debugging." When the field turns green, it is enabled. Connect the phone to the computer with its USB cable. Launch the tethering application on the phone. Launch the application on the computer. Click the option to connect to the Internet in the home screen. When the connection is established, confirmation is displayed in the status window.

How to tether my milestone to my loptop

You can tether your droid to a computer with a USB cable to share internet connection, but verizon charges you a hefty price.
Fortunately, there are apps on the android market that also do the job.
Method 1: Tether Android with Apps that Need Root (Free, heavy configuration)

The Android Wi-Fi Tether application turns your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot--essentially aMiFi--in one tap. The catch? You have to gain root access to your phone, a multi-step process that uses an unofficial Android add-on which can brick your phone if applied incorrectly. Rooting Android is doable for geeks and hackers with experience soft-modding hardware, but it's not something most users could (or should!) do.
Method 2: Tether Android with Proxoid (Free, no root required, some configuration If you don't want to gain root but know enough to get around the command line and use proxy servers, the Proxoid Android app can tether your phone for free.
Method 3: Tether Android with PdaNet ($30, no root required, minimal configuration Finally, the PdaNet Android application lets you tether Android using an app on the phone plus simple software you install on your computer

Can get my archos 5 to conect to my android phone

If you mean to connect your Archos to your Android device through Wi-Fi, than, yes, you can! But, only if your android device supports the tethering feature. For example if you have an Android 2.2 (Froyo) device than you go to Settings->>Wireless & networks->>Tethering & portable hotspot and tap "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot". From the Archos, go to the the Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network you've just created. If you do not have the tethering option available, you should find out if your carrier or device manufacturer has an update for the device. Hope it helps!
