The gear is slipping on my Hobart A200

I believe the gear is slipping on my Hobart A200 stand mixer. I was making bread when the machine started to make a strange noise. The dough hook still spins, so it cant be the motor. The other problem I have is that the dough hook is stuck on the machine, I have tried hitting the stem and under the hook with a mallet, dropping in penetrating oil and soaking it with water, nothing seems to work. I would be very thankful for any help. Candy

I have replaced the worm gear shaft on my old hobart a200 mixer with a fibre cog the problem now is that the motor spins but I can stop it with my hand then it will not go again. I think? the problem may be the spring clip because I think I put the cogs on the transmission shaft back together correctly.

On a Hobart A200 commercial mixer. On the lowest speed 1 the mixer spins around but stop/pauses for a moment frequently.

It sounds like either a partly stripped gear or a broken driving pin. If it is one of those options though I'm surprised it has not stopped completely.

How to invert motor turning direction?

Hobart A200 Stand Mixer
Beatriz, I looked through the entire manual, it shows no reverse option. Did you just get the mixer or did you have it repaired. It seams the mixer is either wired wrong or the gears that rotate the mixer were not assembled correctly.
Check the attached link, manual, instruction and guides, Good luck

Hobart A200 diagnosis

the first A-200's have a worm gear drive that will slip when old but also when mixing dough somtimes the dough will push the mixer aherad of its self and look like its slowing but its just catching up. if you have a old worm shaft it will have a spring on it is how to tell. it is replaced with a shaft that is all keyed and has no slip or give unless a key shears.
