Hey there jolen 323. The issue may be related to your power supply failing, however that would be a pain to replace, so lets consider that video idea. If iyou have a video card, remove it and connect your monitor to the onboard video. If this is effective, replace your video card. Next check your motherboard capacitor to ensure you have not popped any. Normally they are flat on top. When they begin to peak or somtimes burst, there is your problem and may also be related to power supply issues, or poor memory configuration. Also ensure your ram is in good condition and the proper type for your board. If using more than 1 stick, try removing the one furthest from the CPU, and give a test start. the only thing left is to replace Power supply if you are confident in the board. Good Luck!

Sure , you need to change the battery in your motherboard. Often it looks like a silver coin. What happens is that your bios setting are reset to default each time you restart PC, before updating bios (that is the solution from hp that you are trying), change the battery.

did u replace the video card with the same kind of model ? i guess yes ... when system starts hit the f8 key and than go in to safe mode ... mouse wont work so use arrow on the keyboard .. and in the safe mode just log in to admin account if available or login to ur account and see if that still happens .. and if it doesnt ... remove the drivers for the graphic card from add and remove programs and restart the system and go in the normal mode and than install the drivers again ... and if the display disappears in the safe mode or u have install a different graphic card than ... reseat the memory cards and that should resolve the issue .... if that doesnt work out when the system starts hit f1 and stay on the BIOS screen for 30 mins if the system doesnt loose display than u need to reinstall OS ... that will surely work out ... the resolutions given above if u follow them correctly u will have a working system in no time

Locate the iPod in Device Manager

1. Connect iPod to the computer.
2. Quit iTunes if it launches.
3. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
4. In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools. Note: If you don't see Administrative Tools, look at the left column in Control Panel for a link that says, "Switch to Classic View," and click it.
5. Double click the Computer Management shortcut.
6. In the left column, click on Device Manager.
7. In the right column, click the plus (+) icon next to Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand this selection.
8. Locate the iPod in this list. In some cases one of the entries will have "iPod" in its name. If no such entries are present, the iPod is most likely represented by "USB Mass Storage Device."
9. Note: A red "X" appearing next to the iPod's entry in Device Manager indicates this device is disabled. To enable this device, right-click its entry in Device Manager and choose Enable from the shortcut menu.
10. Update the USB driver
    
    1. Right-click the iPod's entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver from the shortcut menu.
    2. In the Hardware Update Wizard that appears, select "Yes, this time only" to allow Windows to connect to the Windows Update Website. Click Next.
    3. Select "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click Next. Windows searches for updated drivers and installs any it finds. If Windows is unable to find updated drivers on its own, continue with step #4.
    4. Click Back.
    5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
    6. Select "Search for the best driver in these locations."
    7. Select "Include this location in the search" and type the following in the field below: C:\Windows\INF
11. Click Next. Windows searches this location for drivers and installs any it finds. If Windows is unable to find updated drivers on its own, you must reinstall the USB drivers as shown below.
12. Note: During installation, if a message appears stating that the software you are installing "has not passed Windows Logo testing" click Continue Anyway to continue installing the drivers.
    
13. Reinstall USB driver
    
    1. Right-click the iPod's entry in Device Manager and choose Uninstall from the shortcut menu.
    2. In the resulting dialog box, click OK.
    3. In the Device Manager window, right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Scan for hardware changes from the shortcut menu.
    4. Windows automatically reinstalls the necessary USB drivers and attempt to remount the iPod. Regards...

while its froze take cmos battery out slide it back in real quick, it will restart and boot right up. ive done this it worked for me.
