My computer will no longer recognize the camera

I never used to have this problem. When I connect the cable into the usb port to download my images, nothing happens. When I go under "My pictures" and attempt to choose my fuji fine pix 2800 to download my images, its not listed. I have tried numerous times to down load my fujifilm fine pix to my computer, but only the fujifilm 700 is listed. I even tried the CD rom but nothing works. This is a new problem. I would always work as soon as i plugged the camera into the USB port with no problems. I hope you can help.

Mate I had the same thing happen to me, the problem is the batteries ...... sounds odd but it was for me at least. I have 4 rechargable batteries, if you remove the power lead while doing transfers and just let the batteries do the work ... all should be fine. Now why would this be a problem i dont know. Whatever it is, SOME batteries are not compatible when the power is plugged in. Check it out and let me know pls Albert, Brisbane [email protected]

Maybe you need to add a software driver for your FinePix 2800, got a disk with the camera? Try loading (reloading?) the driver.

Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 working fine, but Windows 11 wont recognise it. Any ideas please?

If your Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 camera is working fine but is not being recognized by Windows 11, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the USB cable: Make sure that the USB cable you are using is properly connected to both the camera and the computer. Try using a different USB cable to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Check the USB port: Try connecting the camera to a different USB port on your computer to see if the port is the issue. Some USB ports may not have enough power to detect the camera.
  3. Install the camera driver: If the camera did not come with a driver disc, try downloading and installing the driver from the manufacturer's website. Make sure to download the correct driver for your camera model and operating system.
  4. Restart the computer: Sometimes, restarting the computer can help to resolve issues with USB devices not being recognized.
  5. Try a different computer: If the above steps do not work, try connecting the camera to a different computer to see if the issue is with the camera or the computer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there may be a hardware problem with the camera. In that case, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for further assistance.

Hi, I have a JVC GR-D750AA digital video camera. I do not know how to download the things recorded to my PC. I have also bought the USB cable n tried but the camera USB port is not recogned by the PC. I do...

Turn the power switch on your camcorder to "Off." Connect the USB cable that came with the camcorder to the USB port on the camcorder. If you are using the DV cable, connect one end of the cable to the computer first. Put the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. If you are using the DV cable, connect it to the camcorder. Power on your camcorder. Wait while your computer recognizes the attached JVC GR-D270U camcorder. Typically you will get a pop-up on your screen asking how you want to proceed once the camcorder has been recognized. Open your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Roxie, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Import, or capture, the video from the camcorder to your computer using the video editing software. For example, in iMovie you click on "File," then "Import from Camera" to download the movie from your camcorder to the computer.

Hi, I can not tranfer images from camera to computer using a usb cord. I tried 2 different cords and 4 different computers. I do not have a card reader, so please don't ask me to go purchase a card...

Emily,

We need to rule some things out. Do the USB cables you're trying to use work on other "known to be good" devices? Do not reuse any cable(s) that doesn't work, even if new. Once you have a cable that has been proven to work, try connecting the camera to the USB port on the computer again. Make sure the camera power is OFF while connecting to the computer. Only after connecting should you turn camera power ON again. You can review the whole process starting on page 147 of the manual.

If it doesn't work, it is possible that the ports you're trying to use is either 1) defective or 2) overloaded. Try connecting to a different USB port on one of the computers. If you don't have another USB port, or if it still doesn't work as expected, remove all the devices connected to the USB ports that are not needed to operate the computer. This will lower the amount of power the computer needs to supply to USB devices (some - but not all - computers will flash a message on the screen if there's too many devices connected). Reconnect the powered off camera and try again after turning back on..

If you're still having a problem, suspicion turns to the camera's USB port. Resolving a problem within the camera will likely be the most expensive fix. It took considerable restraint, but I didn't even mention the other solution ;-)

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply - thanks.

I get an error message in the Olympus software that the computer cannot recognize the camera's connection to the USB port cable so I cannot download any images. The USB port works for other devices but...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

When I connect the cable to the USB port the computer no longer recognizes the camera connection.

You may have to reload software that came with camera. Or go on line and search for it. It is also possible that your USB port is bad. Try a different USB port on your computer.

Camera No Longer Being Recognized

Does it connect to the PC via a USB cable? Then try connecting to a different USB port or if you have try a new USB cable. I had the same problem with my IXUS 400 and changing to a new USB port, directly to the PC - not a USB hub, it worked. However now I have several issues with my camera - no sound or image on the LCD screen, but I think these are unrelated.
