Rs21dcns the ice-tray does not fill with water to make ice-cubes, although water is being dispensed through water dispenser no problem. Is there a pump or valve to let water into the tray once the tray has been emptied? The motor to empty the ice-cube tray still works ok.

It is over-filling and the cubes are fused together... If the fill is adjustable, lower it, but you may need a new water valve... Frigidaire Water Inlet Valve 242252702

The ice mold tray has built up deposits that "glue" the ice cubes to the tray. This usually means you will have to change the mold tray. You could try vinegar or lemon juice to clean it but the trays are not that expensive.

Ice makers have heaters that loosen the cubes when time for harvest. Sounds like the heater on yours is bad, or maybe the ice maker itself is just bad. Most likely will have to replace ice maker.

Ice maker bad or the ice maker water valve mounted on the same bracket as the dispenser is bad. These frigs are prone to bad ice makers after a few years.

THE WATER VALVE IS BAD

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

If the cubes are fusing together (such as when you overfill an ice tray), your solution could be as simple as adjusting the fill volume (there should be an adjustment under the front plastic cover, and the cover should just pop off and snap back on unless you see screws attaching it) and when your ice maker was replaced this probably wasn't calibrated correctly. Your mention of the side of the maker bulging also leads me to believe the water is overflowing and freezing within the dispenser (causing it to bulge and not dispense).

I had this problem. The root cause was that mineral deposits had built up in the ice cube tray. The ice would not "dump"... but stayed in the tray after the dump cycle. I did not catch it quickly and eventually the plastic frame broke. That was easily replaced. Inspect the ice tray to see that all cube surfaces are smooth. If there are mineral deposits, they need to be removed. Do NOT scrub with anything abraisive or you will ruin the tray. As you are looking straight on at the Ice maker, with the bin out, depress the small black retangular tab. The tray assembly will come apart to remove the tray. Rinse the tray, then fill with warm vinegar. Let it soak. You may scrub with soft cloth, finger or fingernail to remove deposits. Replace the tray and you should be in business.
