Two common issues with this set, one is bad solder connections that develop with age and the other is a possible Glycol leak which usually just gets gradually worse.

This set MAY have the self check feature, when it shuts off do not unplug it, press menu and input on the front at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons, if it has the self check the power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 3 blinks and pause and then repeat the code for a total of 5 times.

Let me know if you find an error code what it is, if you unplug the set it clears the error code and you must wait for it to fail again before repeating the test.

SOURCE: 65 inch Mitsubishi tv Model # vs-60703

so does it have sound??? If so then the set is probably in a hv shutdown because of a weak tube or is in vieo safty mode as the vert has failed in the set. On cost here in Michigan a tube could cost up to 300 bucks + labor and on the vert repair about 250.00 to 400.00 to fix

you might have leakage on the board from the tubes very common a few drops of fluid sometimes leak out of the tube just enough to cause crazy problems in set you need to check for this first unplug set and take the back off youll have to get a drop light or flash light so you can examine the module were the conversion ics are youll see a geen build up on module if you fluid leakage or you will actualy see on board it can be washed of very carefuly it will be the middle module as you face the tv from the back please make sure you have unit unpluged befor you look

TV is lock

Using the Mitsubishi remote, go to the locked function and when it asks for the code pres QV and 9 at the same time on the remote, this will work in any mode which may be locked, including entering a new password!
