I am trying to do a normal calculation using the percentage button but this keeps giving me the tax how do i turn this function off?

There is no other button to hold down to get the % button to work. It does have a dual function, it says RATE SET above the % sign.

Not sure how to get the % button to actually work, very frustrating!!

I can't seem to calculate simple percentages. I don't want to set a permanent tax rate... just want to calculate varying percentages. Anyone know how to do this?

For normal % calculations, it works as follows:

100 x 5 % . . . the display should read 5

100 x 5 % + . . . the display should read 105 which is 5 added to 100

100 x 5 % - . . . the display should read 95 which is 5 subtracted from 100

The SET/% key is indeed dual function although SET isn't initiated until the button is pressed AND held down for a few seconds. When that is occurring, you display should be blank for those few seconds after which SET will be indicated on the display indicating it is ready for input.

otherwise, . . .

Make sure you are not in the SET mode. The display should be clear with nothing but 0 showing. You might also want to press AC before beginning calculations.

It sounds like the Percent key has a dual function. Thee should be a way to toggle the feature by either holding a function or 2nd key then pressing the percent key. Good luck. John
