SOURCE: Hotpoint range door doesn't unlock after the clean cycle.
It is possible that the lever has been bent somehow. If you can lift the top of the oven as if you were cleaning it. look at the lever mechanism, move it to the other position and push it back carefully, to bend it back. I have seen this happen a lot, people lean on the oven, the lever is in the open position and it is pushed a little bending it so when it is moved to close it doesn't go far enough to release it. I am assuming you have waited for the oven to cool down before you tried this first right?
SOURCE: neff oven door (U1661)
The door is v heavy and the hinges being right at the bottom take a lot of strain, especially when the door is in 'half open' position. Once the springs start to wear the hinges are no longer strong enough to hold the top of the door firmly closed. Our U1661 is 8 years old and we've had the hinges replaced twice under extended warranty. The second time the hinges they supplied don't hold the door in this position and it will just drop straight down if you don't support it while you open it.

you need to lock the hinges to get the door back.
it needs some strength
lay door flat on floor
force hinge against the spring until right back and put the locking arm over. i use my feet for this!

SOURCE: my neff oven's handle has become loose. I cannot
You need to remove the inner glass panel, should be 2 screws at top and 2 at bottom and remove. The screws for the handle are behind this
