SSC utility is used for resetting waste ink counter, not for ink level counter (chip at ink tank). If you wish to reset ink level counter (chip), you must use hardware resetter, or use CISS chip with autoreset function.

Ink cartridge is not seated. Take it out and push in until you hear a click. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

Ive replaced all the cartridges on my epson 5500 but still nothing prints. Any help gratefully received

Solution?the solution is never to buy an epson printer ever again! i bought mine early last year with the CISS and since then have give me that same red lights problems like .. forever ! the solution is to sort of take off the carttridge and put it back again. u might have to do this a few times before it actually work . and oh yeah , you have to print everday with epson cause otherwise the ink will clog !! mine is already clog, i have to buy the original ink now to unclog it but still it produce lines! Since then i have give up hope and put my epson in the box to end my misery . i;m using Canon Pixma MP142 with CISS and till now no problem !!

Try downloading this resetter, just follow the link. SSC Service utility won't work CX5500 is not supported by SSC even with the latest version 4.3

If you did not put out the tube for the ink flow before using the CISS then most probably your ink pad is full. The best solution I can offer for this is you should put out the ink flow tube and just let the ink pad dry up after resetting.

Yep chances are there is a problem with the hardware itself. On the computer where you have it connected directly, did you get an error message? if you did then it talks about part at the end of service life then that is the inkpad you are having a problem with, but if there is no error message that popped up on the computer then there might be a problem on the mainboard, call epson so that they can give you a discount if you are going to buy one from them again. you can reach them at 562-276-4382.
