Hello, are there any local stores in south africa that will do it, that where i got mine unlocked and it was a very quick and easy service and cost around £5, i will look around on the internet for you now to find any sites that will unlock your phone and what price there currently doing it at. hope this has started to help

You should obtain a SIM card from a local service provider in South Africa. If that still does not work, it could be that the SIM is locked. See the following links to unlock the phone:

The Verizon phone is CDMA Vodaphone is (I think) the only such carrier in South Africa.
Try Howard Forums to see if there is a work around....
