If the am is working and fm is not, check to make sure antenna is extended all the way, also adding a long wire to the antenna rod will increase range, if no change! the fm section is defective and replacing the whole unit is the only option.
If the FM band is not working, make sure rod antenna is fully extended, wrap wire around the antenna for better gain, if still no result the FM section is defective and is not cost effective to repair.
You will need to get the transformer replaced. This is something a person who can service power electronics can do. Please visit your local electronics repair shop for service.
i don't think this stereo has a cd burner your best bet would be to use online radio (most stations do this now) record straight to your computer and burn cd from there
