Question about Dell PowerEdge Computers & Internet
Solid amber front caution light , no errors on LCD , no other indicators lit. Power supplys = good both green , already swapped to be sure. Rear case fans seem to be running on high. All internal fans working and unit is not hot , nor ever taxed. Solid amber indicator is not in dell manual , Any ideas??
Go here and enter the service tag of your server and download dell open manage server administrator managed node. once installed it will tell you exactly what the problem is. i believe the current version of OMSA is 7.1

Process of elimination? I first thought it may be a power problem but I could not understand the LED flashing (It still maybe a power problem) If you can leave on charge for 4-5 hours more if you can make sure the light is not flashing (That is turn the laptop off at the power switch) Try turning on after being on charge for as long as you can If that does not work it may be the bios with the wrong setting or the Hard Drive is faulty (The more I think about it I think it may the the last issue) Try the other steps first the turn on holding the DELETE button it (I think that is the button to access the bios ) This with work if the Hard is Good or bad)

SOURCE: We have a Dell Poweredge
Go into the RAID setup during bootup (not always in the BIOS), but will post somewhere on startup (should say SCSI/SAS Controller card press CTRL + M to enter setup) or similar.
When in the raid setup check to see the status of the drive(s).
Was the machine running and it's just happened etc or are these machines you have obtained and are plain not working?

its the cover switch. there is a small push switch on the front panel that detects if the front cover has been removed, either the switch is defective, or the cover is not seating properly to close the switch.

Tips for a great answer:
A solid green light means the computer is operating normally.
A solid yellow light indicates the power supply is operating normally but the computer is not processing data.
This could mean there is a problem with the CPu or another component on the motherboard.
((A blinking yellow light indicates the power supply is receiving power from the wall, but not functioning properly.
This generally means the power supply itself is bad and should be tested or replaced.))
A blinking green light means the computer is in standby mode.
You should consider visiting Dell Support and downloading the manual for your
your Dell computer. So use the LED power light codes if your Dell computer has them.
hope this helps
