It's either mirror hinge fatigue or dust on the inside.
Mirror hinge fatigue can be fixed by putting a solid color picture (white or gray works best from what I understand) on the display and letting it sit for 20 minutes.
If it's dust, someone is going to have to go in there and clean it out.
Also could be a defective micromirror device.
Try the first suggestion and if it doesn't work, you're going to need a technician to take a look at it.

SOURCE: White spots on screen Need DMD

This is something of an urban myth....The "DMD chip" is actually the LCD display IC for the set; yes I have seen some listed on EBAY---still a myth----they are replaced (when a light engine is rebuilt in a space age lab or environment) under exacting conditions----if positioned a micron off in any direction picture will be tilted in some way---this is also not like changing spark plugs in a car, if you have a optical engine issue like spots etc, either get a rebuilt engine from Mitsubishi or buy a new set.

They usually require some parts for old engine (mounting brackets etc) be installed on new or rebuilt engine.

I did see the "chip" for another model listed on ebay today.(100.00 PLUS)

I understand the engine is expensive, I replaced a lot of them when the sets were in warranty---more Mitsubishi than any other brand with Samsung a distant second.

I am sure Mitsubishi does not offer the part for sale--they want to sell a tested rebuilt engine only.

I wish you luck but have little hope you will find a "part" other than the whole engine.

SOURCE: white dots on my mitsubishi WD-73734 tv screen

Your tv is a DLP projection one. In it the image is generated by projecting light on a chip that is covered in tiny mirrors that reflect more or less the light towards the screen. In your case some of those tiny mirrors are no longer controlled - they are immobile and reflect fully the light so you get a white spot on the screen.
The DMD chip that holds the mirrors is dying and you will have to replace it. This is the only place i could find that claims to have it on stock. You can also go thru Ebay, in there you will find second-hand ones extracted from defective tv's.
It's installation is strictly a job for a person with great tv repair experience - too many thins can go wrong in there if the job is not done properly.

White spots on my screen

Seems like a dead pixel in the display. The only way to fix it is to buy a new screen which could be more than the TV itself or just buy a new tv.

Thousand white spots on screen started with two more every day can it be fixed ???????????????

Sine the TV's a rear projection DLP and the problem "grew" over time, perhaps those white spots are... DUST!!! Try a vacuum cleaner; there are ventilation holes/slots on the back and sides. If sucking and/or blow air into it moves the spots, then it's definitely dust or some other debris/contamination. If the contamination is hard to access, you may have to open it up to do liposuction.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.
