Best bet is to obtain a faulty motherboard and use the clip from that - they are often sold very cheaply declared as faulty on ebay.

Can you lift the plastic bar at either side on the board where the cable was pulled from?.If so,just lift both sides, one at a time till the plastic bar is loose, then seat your cable straight down until it will go no further and then push both sides of the bar back down to secure the cable...hope that fixes your problem:)

Replace a keyboard

Most laptop keyboard are secured by screws on the bottom of the laptop. The screws that fix the keyboard may have a tiny heyboard symbol against the screw.
When you remove the keyboard screws you can then lift the keyboard off the laptop. The keyboard is connected to the motherboard via a flat ribbon cable, it may have a connector on the cable or a locking clip on the motherboard. Release this ribbom cable from the motherboard, don't pull on this cable or you may damage the ribbon cable.

Keyboard replacement, LCD screens for mobile phones, Ipodsand computer equipment are available from this WEB site.http://www.yallstore.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=1lrjst3ncshlb4c7frn9bev3c3&keyword=keyboards.

Toshiba satellite L775d clock runs fast

The CMOS Battery is bad. The name used by Toshiba is RTC Battery. (Real Time Clock)

Replace it.

1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Follow Anti-Static Precautions.

With a laptop this means buying an ESD wrist strap, and wearing it.
Average cost is around $3 to $6. (Electro Static Discharge)
Connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.

This is one example,

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103245

Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.
Use an ESD wrist strap, and your laptop will be safe.

3) This is a pictorial guide showing, and detailing how to disassemble a Toshiba Satellite L675D Notebook PC. You'll find it also works for the Toshiba Satellite L775D Notebook PC,

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-L675D-L670D/dismantle-laptop-1.htm

This is Page 1. Access to Page 2 is provided at the top of the page, and bottom of the page;
Page1::Page2::Find another model (In White)

Step 17 shows you where the CMOS Battery is located. Click on the photo to enlarge. (You can click on any of the photos to enlarge)

A note on the Keyboard Cable connector on the motherboard, and removing the Keyboard;

The Keyboard Cable is an FFC.
Flat Flex Cable.

As such, it is just a flat ribbon cable with no connector, on the motherboard end of the cable,
(The Keyboard Cable is detached from the motherboard, not the Keyboard)

A) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_Flex_Cable

B) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flat-Flex-Cable.jpg

The connector on the motherboard is a ZIF connector.
Zero Insertion Force.
This connector is shown in Steps 9 and 10.

Click on the photo in Step 9.
Note the white rectangular 'bar'.

This part of the ZIF connector is permanently attached to the motherboard. It is stationary.

Note the two tabs pointed out by the Yellow arrows.
This part of the ZIF connector moves.

As directed by the arrows, the top part of the ZIF connector moves towards the LCD screen.

This is seen in Step 10.

The top part ONLY moves VERY LITTLE.
The ZIF connector DOES NOT come completely apart.

The top part acts like a wedge, and wedges the Flat Flex Cable in the bottom part of the ZIF connector.

Point?

DO NOT move the top part TOO FAR. As said the ZIF connector Does Not come completely apart.

If the top part is pushed too far, and the ZIF connector comes apart, it is broken.

This means Motherboard Replacement.

How to remove keyboard

HP Support > Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook PC > Manuals,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=4308201&

I would like you to click on -

Compaq Presario CQ56 Notebook PC and HP G56 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide

This is a PDF file.
It may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.

At the top of the PDF file is the page number box.
It is to the right of the down arrow.
This is the page number I will be referring to, and not the manual's actual page.

Go to Page 46.

(In the Bookmarks menu on the left, click,
1) On the + sign to the left of Removal and replacement procedures
2) On the + sign to the left of Component replacement procedures
3) Keyboard )

A) Remove ALL power to the laptop.
Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

B) Remove the Memory Compartment Cover.

C) Computer upside down (Bottom facing up), front side toward you,
remove the 6 Philips head screws indicated.

D) Computer back to it's normal position, (Right side up) use a thin, flat bladed screwdriver, and EASE up on the Right and Left BACK edges of the Keyboard.

NOTE*
There are plastic tabs on the Keyboard in the front. (Towards you) These can be broken off if you use the thin, flat tipped screwdriver TOO close to the Front.

The BACK of the Keyboard is lifted up to a 45 degree angle, then the Keyboard is slid back towards the LCD screen, a little. This frees the tabs from the Palm Rest (Top Cover) of the laptop.

NOTE*
The Keyboard is attached TO the motherboard by the Keyboard Cable.
The Keyboard Cable does not come off of the Keyboard.

After the tabs are freed, the Keyboard is rolled over, and laid on it's keys, on the Palm Rest.
This allows both hands (Fingers) to remove the Keyboard Cable from the connector on the motherboard.

The connector on the motherboard is a ZIF connector.
Zero Insertion Force.

The connector is a rectangular block of plastic, and is composed of two pieces.
The top smaller part moves away from the larger bottom part.

The two pieces DO NOT come completely apart. They do not completely separate from each other.

The top part slides away from the bottom part, but only so far. (1/8th inch?)

The cable coming from the Keyboard is a FFC.
Flat Flex Cable.

It has NO connector on the end that plugs into the motherboard.
Just a flat ribbon cable with exposed contacts.

MAKE SURE you line the new Keyboard's cable up the SAME WAY as the old Keyboard's cable.
Install in the same direction.
(Even if the cable is twisted over)

The ZIF connector's top part locks the FFC in place, when the ZIF connector is closed.
The top part has a wedge design.

Hp g60-630us how to remove keyboard

1) Remove ALL electrical sources.
AC adapter and Battery. Leave the Battery Compartment Door off.

2) Laptop closed turn it over, battery compartment facing Away from you.

3) Looking at the inside edge of the Battery Compartment that is towards you, there are 3 screws to remove.
They are right along the edge that faces you.
There is one in the middle, and one on the right side, that are down in a little indention. (A small drop in the case)
There is one to the left.
Philips head screws. Remove them, place them in a multi-compartment container, and mark the compartment for where they came from.

(DO NOT mix the screws up that you are going to remove)

4) Turn the laptop over, open it.
Carefully lift the Front of the Keyboard up to an angle. (The Front of the Keyboard faces the LCD screen)
DO NOT lift it straight up.

There are plastic tabs that protrude from the back of the Keyboard, and go into the Keyboard Cover.
(The dark rectangular shaped piece of plastic that surrounds the Keyboard, and ends at the Palm Rest, is the Keyboard Cover)

Ease the Keyboard forward towards the LCD screen. Lay it down next to the LCD screen, and on the Keyboard Cover.
You want to be able to access the Keyboard cable's connector.

The Keyboard cable connector is the white connector in the middle, with the ribbon cable leading from it to the Keyboard.
This is a ZIF connector.
Zero Insertion Force.

The ZIF connector is made of two parts. It opens, but does NOT separate into two parts.
The white tabs you see on either side are eased towards the LCD screen.
Use your fingernails.
Push on one 'ear' a little, then go to the other side. Keep alternating back, and forth until the ZIF connector is open. It only opens up about 1/4 inch.

This action opens the ZIF connector, where the flat ribbon cable can be eased out of it.

(To reinstall, line the ribbon cable up in the connector, Insert it until it stops, then squeeze the white 'ears' towards the front of the laptop. {Towards you)

Use EXTREME care when opening, and closing the ZIF connector. If you break it you have to replace the motherboard.

Remove the Keyboard.

Repositioning the screen makes the computer cut out. it seems to only work when the screen is tilted far back.

The connection from the monitor(screen) to the mother board is loose or there is a nick in the wires. The wires are tucked in one of the hinges.

Computer compaq nc 6000 power off during working

Hi,

If you feel the power adapter working fine with the diff unit its not an issue with the adapter,

Now, if the unit is not powering on.just perform this:

Take out the batter, adapter and make the unit stand alone and press and hold the Power button with out any power to the unit(Without battery , adapter) by doing that we can take the static charge which might be causing the issue,

My Presario 300 has two broken hinges

Yes they can. You can buy new, or look on Ebay to see if any are available.

You have to remove the LCD Screen Bezel, LED Cover, (Switch Cover), and the Keyboard to access both hinges.

Sound like I'm typing a foreign language? Let me show you a guide to replacing those hinges, complete with photos, so that you may better understand,

This is a PDF file download for a Compaq Presario 305. After you click on the link, give it time to fully download before looking through it.
Here is the direct link,

http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/edwin/laptops/Compaq/Compaq%20Presario/Presario%20305.pdf

If that doesn't work for you, here is the page it came from,

http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/edwin/laptops/Compaq/Compaq%20Presario/index.html

It's in the right column. -> Presario 305.pdf
Start with Page 18, Preparing For Disassembly
Read and view Pages 24, 25, and 26. These pages show you the three connectors that must be disconnected, Display Panel cable, Inverter cable, and Audio cable.
(Pay special attention to how a ZIF connector comes apart. It's real easy to do, believe me. Page 23 shows you. You'll see that the ZIF connector is made up of two parts. The main connector body, and cable guide. The guide is shown in an up position in the illustration. It is down next to the main body of the connector, when you start. The guide does not come out all the way. You merely lift it up with your fingernails to the position shown, and the cable slides out. To replace, insert the cable in the correct orientation, then push the guide down against the main body)

Removing the keyboard is on Page 37. Removing the Switch Cover is on Page 40.
Removing the Display Panel is on Page 42.

Don't let this task seem that daunting. You CAN do it! I advise using a clean egg carton for the various screws. Label each egg holder for where the various screws come from. (Sounds pretty techy, huh? lol! That's what I use!)

Replacing keyboard on Balance laptop

Yes, there is a trick. This is a ZIF or zero insertion force connector. When you removed it you probably just pulled hard enough that it let the connector slide out [ :( don't do that next time though ]

There is an excellent "video" of a ZIF connector here at the bottom of the page.

Otherwise look carefully at the connector and see how the connector is divided. It should be two pieces that either slide together/apart or one part flips up and snaps back down.

BE CAREFUL THOUGH! These connectors are very easy to damage/destroy. If you are doing the correct thing to open the connector is should take very little force.

Once you've got the connector open - stick the cable end back in it and close the connector and your keyboard should be working again.
