Depending upon the copier, with some of these, you can press a button and it displays where the jam has occurred. As annoying as knowing that happens to be, here is the repair manual. Starting on page 11-75, there is in intricate detail, step by step procedures for clearing the jam, apparently depending upon the location of the jam. One instantly feels like one has fallen down the rabbit hole. It does take concentration and the un-crossing of eyes to wade through the steps. On the Canon site, there is a reference to cleaning it of a static charge if there is a repeated pattern of jams. That appears to be the sole informational reference to a jam for the particular printer there. Here is the download for the manual.
