My lcd was under salt water. it turns on and there is a picture but the controls on the bottom right do not work. can it be salvaged

Could be a couple of things. Have you put the right amount of salt in according to the tables (I find I always have to add a bit more then the tables say). Have you let the salt mix completly by stirring up any salt laying on the bottom of the pool and by running the pump for at least 24 hours before turning on the salt generator. Depending on how large the pool is you may need more than 24 hours before turning on the salt generator. If still doesnt work than you can try adding more salt a little bit at a time over a couple of days. Also check to see if the electrolytic plates need cleaning. Unscrew the large grey connector to the left of where the wire goes into the sensor and look inside the unit on the left)

if it is fresh water it has a very good chance of working again

remove batteries and leave it to dry for a few days before trying to put batteries back in and using

Saltwater? I don't think you're going to revive this camera. If it were fresh water - you'd have a fighting chance - but salt water is highly corrosive and is a much better electrical conductor than fresh water. Even if you managed to get the camera work right after it got wet - chances are the salt would eventually "work its magic" and corrode metal circuits inside the camera and cause it to fail - much the way salt "eats cars" in areas that roads are treated with salt in winter to control ice.

If you ever have a water problem with something not designed to get wet, place the item in a bowl of uncooked rice. Cover completely and let it sit a day or two. The dry rice will wick away water and moisture on and inside the device. If doused in salt water, the water will be absorbed - but salt deposits are left behind, as salt can not be evaporated.

You are going to have to clean the salt block out of the tank. You can try using the end of a broom handle to try breaking it up. Be careful not to go to bottom of tank. Try pouring a couple gallons of hot water over salt bridge if that does not work and retry. Avoid using pellet salt it causes problems like this. If there is currently water at the bottom of salt tank then system is not working and needs repair.

The reason for the calcium build up is normally a hard water,Make sure the salt dispenser is full (located at the bottom of the machine under the lower rack,before you add salt get a descaller from you local hardware store, most carry for dishwashers.Follow instructions, this may require a few treatments before it is gone,when it is right then check salt level etc.Hope you come right.

the leslies employe is right the only way to get rid of the high salt level is to drain the water i would say drain a 3rd and fill pool and check salt level some salt genarators can not make chlorine at high salt levels or when the water is cold

To salvage the pictures you could just use a memory card reader. As for the camera itself I cannot say, but by your description it doesn't sound promising.

To anyone who drops their phone in salt water. Get the battery out immediately. When you get home or sooner if you can put the phone in something that will allow fresh water to immerse it entirely. Keep water running in the container for about 3 days continually flushing the phone. Now take all of the water out and fill the container with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Let the phone dry out for at least 2-weeks before trying a fully charged battery in it and turn it on. Should work and you have just saved yourself buying a new one. Then don't leave it in your pocket when you go to the beach, drop it in a Ferry Salt Water Toilet, etc., where it it is immersed in salt water. hi yes salt water is very dangerous for any electronic device and it is possible that you will need to install a new LCD but first try changing the battaries to brand new 1's a little slap on the bottom side will maybe do the job good luck
