WASHING MACHINE FILLS WITH WATER AT START THEN STOPS SHOWING ERROR 5

Hoover 140 aaa washing machine starts off cycle by filling with water for about 20 seconds then everything stops and it shows up error 5. i don,t have my manual so have no idea what error 5 is. please help.

The carbon brush may be worn out and need replacement(these are a pair of componet that makes contact to the motor. Francis

The usual issues with this type of washer is the relay board located inside the top of the unit. as i remember mfgs make a nice unit but are not so good for sealing the electronics off from the rest of the unit. chances are some moisture is up in the relay or relay socket. easy access you will see several relays. pull and tag each as you do to avoid confusion. check for corrision build up on any part of this unit. this should help.. gl k

Hoover suggests that the water fill valve(s) may be turned off. Error 2 means It cannot fill correctly according to their owners manual.

Error number 2 appears on Hoover AAA whisper 1400 washing machine - any help? When it appears which is becoming more regular that it use to be I usually end up putting the washing through a quick spin,...

I downloaded the manual from Hoover website. Error number 2 relates to the washing machine not filling up with enough water. Check the water supply and correct angle of the pipe.

Hoover HNL7166 'Start Delay' light flashing

Hoover (Nextra series) washing machines

The 'Start' & 'Pause' LED's will flash together to indicate the error code. You have to count the flashes within each 15 second period to get that error code. The start and the pause LED's will flash together at 1Hz (i.e 1 flash per second) within that 15 second time frame, then will continue and show again within another 15secs and so on.

1 Flash = Interlock fault
2 Flashes = Fill time-out
3 flashes = Drain time-out
4 flashes = Overfill fault presure pipe blocked
5 flashes = NTC error
6 flashes = faulty control board
7 flashes = Motor jammed
8 flashes = Tacho fault
9 flashes = Motor triac on module board
10 flashes = Prog Selector or wiring fault
