This issue only occurs when trying to send a SMS text message from within the call details screen of a call in the call log.
To avoid this issue, complete the following steps to send a SMS text message from the call log screen:
Open the Phone application.
Open the Call Log by clicking the middle button in the toolbar.
Touch the call log/contact in the list without clicking the screen.
Display the menu, then select SMS Text (Name/Number).
If required, rotate the BlackBerry smartphone to switch to landscape mode.
Try removing the password before attempting to sync to your computer.
On the pressing the keys and getting only numbers sounds like the numbers shift is locked.
simply press the alt on the bottom left of your keyboard.
the use of numbers only or sometimes caps only will be indicated on your screen. observe the symbols along the top and the bottom .
type something as if you were going to send a text message to text that the keyboard is set to normal and lower caps.
You can't. To send pictures or other media, you must use the MMS (Multimedia Message Service) option. Just use the option menu button in the messaging application and choose Compose MMS. After selecting the recipient, click the menu button again to add things like pictures, videos, etc. to the message. Note that sprint includes the ability to send media in your data plan, but your recipient may get charged for the message. Some carriers, even Sprint, don't include MMS in there unlimited messaging plans but rather expect you to send the picture as SMS which the Blackberry Curve can't do.
When you upgraded to the BlackBerry Curve, did you add the BlackBerry data plan to your account? If not, then this process won't work. If you did add the BlackBerry data plan, contact AT&T and ask to speak with the BlackBerry support. They can make sure that everything was provisioned properly.
