Installed new bulb. Only have a universal remote. Have printed users manual. When i go to the tv input I get nothing but black. Pop in a dvd and put on input 1 and works like a charm. Is there a board that just runs that part? Clueless and stumped?
It almost sounds like a setting issue that might require the proper remote to control. You mentioned "tv input" are we talkin RF/Cable screw on input or rca type composit video input? and essentaily yes to your question all the inputs are microprocessor controlled as well as the entire functionality of the set. You can probably pick up the correct remote for a few bucks on ebay or elsewhere on the net.

Hello hwkdoc, What has happened is that your shutdown circuit relay has tripped and it looks like it also may have malfunctioned. This however is not the cause of your problem but a symptom. The cause of your problem is an over-current condition caused by one of the systems in your TV, I would suspect the high voltage power supply or the switching low voltage power supply. These are the first places to look, if they are not the problem then check the convergence correction amplifiers. Right now the shutdown circuit is keeping the TV from coming on. If you do not have a background in electronics I would advise you to have a qualified TV technician analyze and repair your TV. Thank you, Shuttle83

Hi, don`t know if you`ll be able to find this but D9405 a surface mount diode on the main power supply board is a known issue for yours and many other models, it has to be re-soldered not replaced, other joints in area may also need to be "touched up", other than that I had one where connector CN310 was not seated correctly, one side of plug was cocked way up, other than those 2 you may have a bad ballast (board that the lamp is connected to), Be sure that the lamp door is securely closed as they have a switch built into them and if the switch is not closed the set WILL NOT start, hope this helps you out, BMW Rider

Make sure the bulb is seated properly in it's hole. It has to be an exact fit or it won't work.
