I have a manual 84 bronco ii, me and my friend just rebuilt the carb. as I was driving home, I was in 4th and lost power, started losing speed. I tried to downshift and it died. When I pulled over and tried ti start it it wouldn't even turn over. I finally get it started and it makes a horrible clanking noise from what sounds like the engin. I have no idea what it could be.

Why does my 1989 bronco II lose power after it gets warmed up? After taking off from a stop, I have to floor it to get it moving, & it is slow getting up to speed.

does it feel like it is running rough? a mis fire could cause this and if it does it when it warms up you could have a fuel riching mixture problem.

how does it feel>?

1988 Bronco II transmission pop out of 1st gear

there are dent and brass balls that are in your transmission and are used to hold the shifter into each gear when it starts poping out of that means that those dents and brass balls are worn down and i would suggest getting the transmission rebuilt.
