Unplug the Ref for 15-20 min. take off the cover so you can see the compressor, then plug it back in and listen for the compressor to start. You should be behind the Ref so you can tell the difference between the fan running or the compressor.

The compressor should start and keep running.

The fan cooling the compressor should be running.

The fan in the freezer should be running.

You should feel cold air coming into the Fridge side from the freezer side.

Fridge side is not getting cold getting cold

When your refrigerator isn't cooling properly, the problem could be as simple as a blocked vent, the thermostat was bumped, or a more complicated problem that requires professional service, such as a coolant leak or a bad compressor.

Check out this article, Refrigerator not cooling, for a simple troubleshooting checklist of possible reasons why it's not cooling as well as some suggestions for things you can do. I hope that helps!

GE fridge not cooling. freezer working ok. compressor fan not working

This is an odd thing to hear. Normally when the condensor fan (}compressor fan) Isn't running the freezer is the one who's temperature rises and the fridge stays about the same. I would strongly suggest looking at the main control board, just for the simple fact that 9 out of 10 times thats the root of the problem

Fridge part working freezer not

The fridge is just the end of the freezer evaporator. If the freezer isn't cold inside, check the rear panel. It is probably frozen solid with no air getting through. Switch off, leave doors open for 24 hours and be prepared for lots of water to come out. Clean the condenser and make sure the fan inside is ok. Reset the thermostat to middle of the range and be sure to come back to tell us how you get on.

Frigidaire FRS26R2AW5 Refrigerator too cold on fridge side.

If the dampers are closing when you select warmer temp with the fridge temp control, there really isn't a way for the cold air to enter the fridge. Check to make sure the damper isn't opening back up after a while.

My fridge gets really hot on top and between the fridge and freezer where the door meets

next time send the model number and brand name.usually when this happens is the condenser fan motor isn't working.pull the fridge out, remove the bottom back panel and check the fan to see if it's working,if it is check the condenser coil to see if it's filled with lint and dust,it could just need to be cleaned out but if it's that hot most likely the fan isn't running,if you get this tonight check it now,if the fan isn't running you could blow the compressor, the condenser fan blows and keeps the compressor cool enough so it doesn't overheat by moving the hot air and the heat also esscapes through the condenser coil so if that's clogged with dust the machine will run hotter than normal,if the fan isn't running you can stick any window fan back there and blow it onto the compressor to keep it cool until you fix the condenser fan motor, this way you won't loose any food and if the compressor goes it's new fridge time,to much to repair.hope this helps and good luck with your machine.one more thing,i've found the fans not running and by pushing the blade it runs again,if this happens the fan could run and never have a problem or it could stop an hour later but i would change it out no matter what.if it's a G.E. fridge and the motor isn't running, most likely it will be the computer board,i've found 10 machines doing this and the temp. settings turning on and off or the evap fan motor in the freezer runs slow and then fast and the condenser fan isn't running or running slowly, this is why you have to send the brand name and model number.

I have a Baumatic fridge/freezer the fridge is not cold even on maximum setting the model number is BRB2713 please can you suggest what the problem might be

First check the simple things. Check to condenser grill and make sure the air flow is not blocked by lint, etc. And then make sure that nothing is blocking the cooling tubes between the freezer and refrigerator. I think the Baumatic has a fan pulling the cold air up from the freezer compartment into the fridge, if that isn't working, the freezer would be fine, but the fridge would be to warm.
