Could be any number of issues, try checking your ram first. Sometimes when the ram cards are either, broken, loose, or the latches arent properly connected the ram card wont complete the circuit and the screen will remain blank, if cards are attached properly them try taking one card out amd run it with only one card, then switch the cards and try again, remember to check the latches are all closed even on the empty slots.
it could also be you graphics card, check that you are connecting the screen to the output from the graphics card and not the onboard, it is an override to the onboard. If that fails try taking out the graphics card and runing output through the motherboards onboard.

Sounds like an overheated card but maybe it's just not inserted properly. Try to take the card out and insert it again with a bit more force. You will feel a click when the card is inserted properly. When I first inserted my xfx nvidia geforce 6200 agp I got proper image when booting but when windows was started I had a black screen. When I took another look at the card I saw the card was not properly inserted. A bit more force on the card and it said click. Now I have no problems.

Hi, if your PC is a IBM ThinkPad, you can lift the keyboard by unlocking both latches on the side of the computer (The same latches you use to open the screen) and then lifting the board in the same way as the LCD screen. To access the memory you probably has to remove a sticker, some screws or even the Hard Disk Drive. Tell us what model of notebook you have.
