I don't understand digital and analog

I own a durabrand tv model number dtv1907. They say that if your tv isn't digital it won't work in February. Will my tv work and if not what do I have to do?

The DTV1907 is digital, but it must be programmed. If you need help with this call the customer service number on the set.

Hitachi 57G500A DTV & upcoming analog to digital changeover

To answer your direct question, yes it has a digital tuner. To answer your real question, NO it WILL NOT receive the new ATSC (digital) broadcast stations. The tuner itself is a digital one but works only for analog signals. The changeover in February will change the broadcast signals to a new digital format that will require a converter for your set to continue to function. Please note that the converter is only required if you receive your signal from rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna. If connected to cable or satelite, no change will be seen and no converter is needed.

To simplify:

Over air reception = need converter
Cable or satelite = no converter

I HAVE A 2004 RCA MODEL 24V511T. dO i NEED A DIGITAL TUNER IN ORDER TO FOR IT TO WORK AFTER FEBRUARY 17?

Model has one NTSC RF and two NTSC composite inputs. It's compatible with analog Over The Air and non-scrambled analog cable broadcasts. After the US analog cutoff (currently scheduled for June 12) it WILL require a digital to analog converter to receive ATSC digital TV transmisions.

I'm looking for rabbit ears/antenna for my Durabrand T.V.

Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. all carry a selection of antennas that will work with your converter box. Depending on the strength of DTV signals in your area, you may need an amplified antenna (has a built-in booster) to get good reception. Analog broadcasts were watchable with a weak signal (the picture would just be fuzzy), but the digital system needs a good strong signal. The sales people may be able to suggest an antenna based on what other customers have purchased and their reports of how well they do. Outdoor antennas are also available if needed.

I have a sony trinitron wega tv model number KV-32FS120 and I was wondering if it is digital ready or do I need to get a converter box

This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the U.S.'s transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products.

Don't understand about digital and analog

Hi, The TV has an analog tuner only and so is not DTV ready. You will require a seperate set top box to receive digital programs with it. If you have brought the set recently it should have had an appropriate warning label on it. If not ,you may have some come back with the store which sold it.(depends on the country where purchased)

Need info

My understanding is that for the over-air channels, this TV has an analog tuner. If you currently have cable or satelite, you will not be effected by the change-over slated for February 2009.

Are you wondering if this Durabrand TV is going to be ok in 2009 when Television goes all Digital?

This will not affect cable TV users only people trying to recieve TV over the AIR UHF/VHF will be digital signals now and will require a special tuner to recieve them.

Most durabrands have Analog/Digital tuners but they are analog TV's.
