You can download the software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows XP/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu (See attached image).

Then download the required drivers and software.

The list of available software and drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

Yes, actually the desk contain the Device Drivers, Drivers are actually communication files, that tell the Software (Windows, in your Case) on how to operate that specific Hardware, so for every Operating System, the drivers are differently programmed. For you Windows 7, I've attatched the download link below, download and install the driver, its from the vendors site. You Printer will start working then.

I also have a mp470. Try this before the driver download. Click Start, click all programs, select Canon utilities, select mp navigator, click on mp navigator again. On my pc this opens a window where I can select Scan/import from the platen or from a memory card. If this does not work here is a link to Canon to get your drivers. Note: turn off and uninstall your MP470 before installing the new drivers. Select your operating system from the list and select your desired drivers.

I suspect that you want the driver for the printer, to install on your new computer, - it is to download from HERE: select your operating system and you are ready to download.
