I just bought this TV and when I turned it on, I noticed it has 2 bright stains on the top of the screen (only visible on dark scenes). Is it normal? Should I exchange for a new one? Another thing: Why is the quality of the TV too low? We use DISH here. It always says 480i. Is there a way to get a better image quality? How?
I happen to have the same tv brand, size, and problem. The only difference is model. I bought mine black friday 2012 and its got screen problems. Im looking for a solution also to why it has the problem it has. It was working great for the time being until i noticed cloudy white spots around the perimeter edges. I found out its do to a few possibilities. One is the one thats wrong with mine that i believe is dead pixels. My tv doesn\'t look damaged in the screen butt when the image darkens while watching tv u can see it. Its like a bleeding discoloration. Me personally im taking mine back to either get my money back or new tv. From ur breaf description sounds like u have the same issue except yours came that way.if u look at my follows on here u will see pictures of my tv and the issue to my screen. I bought mine from best buy. So i got a thirty day store return warranty plus i purchased a 2 year warranty. So im going back and going to see what they are going to say. I advise u to probably do the same especially if u got warranty.
As far as changing ur setting for HD picture quality with ur dish is to go through your menu options on the dish.i use comcast so mine is different butt im sure in a way the maybe might b in somewhat similar. With comcast theres a format button on the front of my box that i can press to change different format quality. If that dont give u what your looking for then see if you turn off your box while tv is on and then press menu on box and see if a user menu pops up if so then u should be able to change quality. You then can program it to be 1080 if ur using hdmi or components. One thing with comcast box is that i can make every channel 1080 bt the regular channels that dont broadcast that quality makes the picture smaller. So then u have to have HD channels to get 19080 quality. Butt u can get a good quality setting still with regular broadcast channels by overriding to 480p or to the best quality its puts out to that channel. Most broadcast channels set out a 480i or a a better HD 480p. Other than that you have to have HD channels and then ur box should automatically format to 1080u quality on the HD dish channels so you dont have to keep changing. Then when change ur channel back to standard broadcast channel it will automatically format to back to 480peither and so one as you change channels. Well hope it all helps and you got what you were looking for.
