With Win XP both video cards (tested each separately) loaded drivers and ran fine. Upgraded to Win 7 and PCI video cards have no output-black screens. Switch cable back to on-board video and it displays. Video drivers for PCI cards load fine and Win 7 shows each card is present and running properly, but no display. Unloaded on-board driver, installed card and rebooted. Both video cards a known good, 2600 is new.

Are you running 32 or 64 bit system ???
Make sure the video driver supports windows 7, 32 or 64 bit.
The video card can sure run fine on windows xp but not in windows 7 as it is a totaly different system.
The mainboard has a 1 x AGP 8X slot.
So now you maybe has to find a video card that supports windows 7
Try also to download a manual.

You could by why would you? Even your " on board" graphics are faster that an PCI video card would be. You have a AGP 8 slot. Look for a really good AGP 8 video card. That should get you where you want to go. It will not be as fast as a PCIe16 card but you do not have that option nor slot of *********** board.

Yes, it will work just fine. Just make sure you uninstall the drivers of the embedded one before installing the new one and you disable it from the BIOS immediately after.

Also, the EVGA Geforce 2600 PCI supports Win 7 and has a driver 306.97 that says so.The GT 220 is an even better card that was running on my other Win 7 system before I removed it to test with.With either card installed, Device Manager says it is functioning properly. Just no output on the cards standard video output. Makes me think Win 7 talks to the PCI bus differently than Win XP did.

Both cards have Win 7 driver support, and actually use the same EVGA driver package - 306.97.I had a choice between PCI and AGP 8X, but I thought the PCI would be better. I FOUND IT!!!! Just a BIOS setting. In the hope that this helps someone else: With Geforce 6200 in PCI slot 2 I had no display. Put display connector on the onboard VGA connector.Booted and pressed DEL to get into BIOS. Under Advanced, Chipset, Graphics Adapter Priority change the default (AGP/Int-VGA) to PCI/Int-VGA. Rebooted and display went black. Moved display connector to 2600 VGA output and the Window 7 display was there. In Device Manager there is only the 2600, the VGA isn't even there. Ran EVGA driver 306.97 setup (downloaded package from EVGA) and new driver installed normally. MY GUESS? Win XP somehow ignores the BIOS setting and finds the 2600 in the PCI slot, while Windows 7 obeys it and looks for AGP and Int VGa so misses a PCI adapter. Mobouser guide I have is page 2-19. Good luck everyone and thank you for the help.
P.S. I could probably move the 2600 to PCI slot 1 and go through the install again. However......I'm too chicken. Old maintenance axiom: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Good luck.
P.P.S. Also, I did NOT upgrade my BIOS, and I think it's pretty old. Looks like version 1201,Build Date 11/23/06. I'd try the BIOS setting change first before messing with BIOS upgrade.
