Issue After downloading and installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 on the computer, the HP product prints text and images backwards or as a mirror image of what appears on-screen when printing from any program. Solution To resolve the issue, turn off mirror imaging in Printer Preferences . To do this, use the following steps:
  1. From the Windows taskbar, click Start and then click Control Panel .
  2. If your computer is in category view, click Printers and Other Hardware , and then click Printers and Faxes . If your computer is in classic view, click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the HP product from the list of printers, and then select Properties . The Properties dialog box displays.
  4. From the General tab, click Printing Preferences . The Printing Preferences dialog box displays.
  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. Under Printer Features , click Mirror Image , click the down arrow to the right of the field, and then click Off .

I have HP Office Jet L7680 All-in-one printer, for unknown reason it keeps printing the "mirror image" of a document I'm trying to print

Try this...
Go to <Start> <Printers> Right click on your printer and select properties. On the "advanced" tab uncheck "Print Mirror Image". I know the path works for other printers, but I can't validate it for you that model.

I connected a dell laptop to the basement printer via a wireless connection, but when it prints, the letters are reversed so that you can only read it in the mirror. Other dell laptops connected to the...

Hi, This is actually a setting in the printer driver in that particular Dell laptop.
In the laptop in question, go to"Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Printers" Here right click on your printer and select "Printing Preferences". Go to the "Finishing" tab. On teh bottom right, you'll see an option called "Mirror Image". Make sure that is "unchecked".
Click "OK". and the setting now have been updated.

Can you use mirror image when copying? I have a HP L7680

The copy function does not support mirror images. I'd scan it and manipulate a mirror image with photo software and then just print it.

Print mirror image gel printer GX700

The mirror image setting is in the printer properties/ printing preferences. You can either go to control panel/printers/properties, or when you press print, and the window pops up, in printing preferences you can choose the mirror image setting.

Printing in Mirror image

Hi,

It's likely that you have an old outdated printer driver for your L7590 as this has been a long "known" issue with the L7000 series of MFD's.

To resolve the issue properly you need to uninstall the current driver version and then download the latest version of the software that isn't just driver/basic based.

You can extract the source files including the drivers folder using 7zip if you want to try and avoid installing all the additional bloat that comes with these printers.

Failing that, you need to define alternative quick settings to take over from duplex (two-sided) printing as this appears to have been incorrectly set to use mirror printing. Other quick settings have been implicated as well but the driver update should resolve all of them.

In some instances the driver update doesn't apply properly so you may need to uninstall and reinstall more than once... Remember to delete your printer from the printer listings and unplug it from the USB cable before you uninstall and reinstall to get it to work properly.

Hope this helps.

HP L7580 printer prints mirror image

  • Go to the Printers Menu and select Add Printer
  • Add a Local Printer
  • Create a new port - type: local port
  • For the port name, enter the share of your printer on the remote computer.  For example, if your computer name is superDesktop and the printer share name is megaPrinter, you'd type in \\superDesktop\megaPrinter.
  • Finish the wizard and you're done, printing normally!
