He4t dispenser problem soap

I have a he4t - the soap won't totally dispense from the dispenser. it turns hard and stays there

Mine had the same problem. You need to remove the three screws at the back top edge of the machine. Then push the top panel back slightly, and the top panel will lift off. Under the top panel, you will find a complex system of cams and gears just above the soap dispenser door. You will find soap residue around a small arm that has a spring attached to it. Clean the soap residue. Be careful not to dislodge the spring. I used automotive wax to keep soap buildup from reoccuring, and to make the arm move freely. Let me know if you have any problems with my description, I will post some photos.

Why does it keep dispensing soap?
What do you mean "keep dispensing soap"? Is this a GE dishwasher with an automatic soap dispenser? Or do you mean that the soap lid won't latch or stay closed? Or are you talking about the rinse-aid dispenser leaking rinse-aid (which is fairly common)?

Soap dispenser latch problem.

a) Look at the latch whether there is build up of soap. CAREFULLY clean it. It might work.

b) If not just replace the whole dispenser unit. Not worth wasting time on trying to fix the spring problem. Most dispensers are $ 50 ~ $ 100 price range.

Soap dispenser won't stay closed
Only two reasons this may happen. One is the dispenser is just bad (most likely) or that the timer is somehow malfunctioning and sending power to the soap dispenser all the time (least likely) You will usually know if its the second because the dispenser will get really warm after the dishwasher had been on for a few minutes.
