If the problem is that it just wont play or recognize DVD movie but recognizes CD then you may need to download a DVD decoder.

Windows Media Player ( depends on the version) doesn't come with DVD decoders so you may have to download it OR :

You can download WinDVD here.

May be duplicate... I have 2 Denon cdr-w1500 recorders. They both started the same problem at the same time. I just cleaned them with q-tips and canned air (no q-tip fibers were left inside the units). ...

continuest uses of ant cd player or recorder will damage the eye. try 2 leave it upside down 4 a day 2 see if there is any dry spots in the eye. if not restart the cd player all day until it reboots
with a cd any kind. if unit is broken time for a dvd ,cd recorder/player. good luck buddy

My cd player taked forever to start playing my burned cd

2001, jeep, "new technology on old IRON?"
burned, burned what? did you RIP a CDDA disc to CDR
or burn a bunch of MP3? , my guess you RIPPED it.?

you expect burned CD to work? CDR or CDRW?
if you read the product datasheet for the actual player it will
list all formats that work (few) back then. RBB was zero.
its not weird, it's history,
there are many formats, for CD.
car CD began with CDDA, discs (like sold on the shelf in a store)
those are not file formatted, its track formatted like an an old LP album. (wiki CDDA)
then came file formats. (vast types. MP3 tops.)
there are 3 levels here.
CDR format.
then file types
last music encoding formats(complex)_ask
i can tell you that not all formats are supported on old cars. few to none.
some do SEEM? to work, but are flaky
and after 13years, not at all or more falky, (weak laser, optics dirty)

why not up grade and use USB sticks. ?????
CDs are pretty dead now.

which player, there are many? in dash.?
http://www.wjjeeps.com/radios.htm#AMFMCD

note the lack of CDR play back ( and all others) until 2002.
and even the 2002 is limited.
all car head ends are limited.
for max files.
max folder.s
max files in folder.

just because a CDR pays in a head end that does not support it
means ZERO, as some heads can see some data and attempt to play it blindly, it's just a very dumb headend. (dumb to a fault)

there are endless posts of users trying 100s of ways to fool it
some can,/ most can't (but is not supported so......)

if really curious. post head end ID , like RBB?
we can get the full spec. on that head.

and this,?
http://www.kigmaradioshop.com/servlet/the-46/RBN-RBB-P04858584AE-P04858584AH/Detail

my new jeep supports all these , yours dont
Supported formats are: CDDA, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3,WMA, DVD Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and CDDA+MP3
(this support is progressive from 2002 to present day)

does that help>/?
if not post head end pn. or series class.

Vostro 1500 compaq cdr dvd player not work

Replace the CD/DVD player -- less than $20 for a new one.
Take the old/broken one to the computer-store, to get a new one with matching power/data connectors.

Can I copy a CD R To aDVD R , I have still photos from recent wedding, burned to CDR,but will not play on DVD player on TV, can I copy this CDR to A DVDR disk

It's not enough to merely copy to a DVD. You need to create a Video CD or DVD video to make them playable on your DVD player. Nero and other video authoring software should have this option.

Cd player gives me a error code 4

The player doesn't like the brand of CDR your playing. Try using just a CD burner instead of a combo CD/DVD burner2_bing.gif. Also use Verbatim Pastel brand, because the player recognizes these discs easier. Also, it wouldn't hurt for you to run a commercial disc laser cleaner through this thing to clean the optical lens. Burn music using Nero software because its easy and the best.

Deck A will not play/Deck B OK

Sounds like the CDR deck has an issue. When the disc comes out has it's position changed i.e has it been spun at all? Can you hear any motors moving? Does it work with any type of disc ( cd/cdr/cdrw)?

Will Not Play CD-Rs Part Deux

Checked specs- YES -supposed to play MP3's. Did you try other MP3 Audio disks in the DVD? You can try the MP3 disk in your computer to make sure it is OK. If it plays in the computer, have to suspect a problem with the DVD unit - probably the converter IC.
