Oster wine opener sticky rubber surface

Did anyone have an answer to this? I have had the same problem. I like the opener, but the parts of the rubber surface that are not usually handled get quite sticky. Any thoughts on preventing this, or if not on removing the stickiness?

Sticky rubber drill handle

I would try wiping it down with some Goo Gone and see if that helps.

Rubber coating on Canon has turned gummy and leaving traces on anything that comes in contact.

I'll assume its sweat and grime from handling over it's life time. You could purchase "Wax & Grease remover for ten bucks at an automotive after market store and remove it with a rag. We use it to remove adhesive residue on cars prior to paiting (removed stickers, pin striping, door moulds/strips all leave a adhesive residue.)

A less toxic product could be tee tree oil or eucalyptus oil

I recommend the wax n grease remover as long as the sales person agrees that it's not going to eat into your rubber or discolor it (which I highly doubt but wont hurt to ask) This product is a great thing to have around the house for those *sticky moments* u want to get rid of "1-2 quick wipes and its done"

Sticky

Possible that the rubber has vulcanized due to exposure to heat, try and use a external coat or rubber cover or you will need to replace the handle.

How do i renew sticky rubber handles

Try lubricating the "handles" with an Armour All type polish...the handles should absorb some of the lubricant and with consistent wiping, should perform with out the "sticky" feeling...replacing the handles is the next option. Hope this helps.

Toyota manual windows..very sticky..

The 'sticky' windows can be caused by:

1) Dead windows seals rubber that are no longer flexible and can break down to the point of being sticky rubber: replace the seals or as a temporary solution rub a bar of wet soap on the seals where the windows slide against.

2) Lack of lubrication in the windows winder mechanism: you will need to remove the doors handles & internal covering panel to get to the gears located in the doors cavity where the windows slide in.

Hope it helps!
