If your facing the printer with the top cover removed, on the left side you will see 3 sets of wires. closest to you is purple then red then farthest back is purple. the sensor in back with the purple wire is the sensor creating this error. either you have a paper jam or this sensor is unplugged or defective. i just replaced the fuser in mine and accidentally bent one of the pins to this sensor and got the same error. replacing the sensor from my old fuser fixed the problem

Try taking all of the paper out of the paper tray and try to pull it from the front of the printer.

There is output sensor where the papers come out, make sure its lowered down, be VERY CAREFUL not to break it.

I have a problem. When I turn on my printer, the first symbol from top constantly blinks and it doesn't print anything. How can I solve this issue?

Welcome to FixYa!

If the first symbol on the top is constantly blinking as shown in the picture below, It means that a paper or a foreign object has jammed your printer.

jas247_22.gif

Jam can occur in 3 areas. Please refer to the image below.
1. Internal Areas
2. Input Trays
3. The Output Bins
jas247_23.gif

To clear the jam, turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord. Be careful not to tear the paper in case of a paper jam. If a small piece of paper remains in the printer, it could cause additional paper jam.

Let's clear out the Internal Areas first. Push the button to open the print-cartridge door, and then remove the print cartridge. To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper. Please refer to the image below.

jas247_24.gif
If jammed paper is visible, grasp it with both hands and slowly pull it out of the printer. Please refer to the image below.
jas247_25.gif
If no paper was jammed inside the print-cartridge door, open the Output Bin or the back door
of the printer. To avoid damaging the printer, do not attempt to clear a jam in the top output bin by pulling the paper straight out.
jas247_26.gif
Again, if jammed paper is visible, grasp it with both hands and slowly pull it out of the printer.
If no paper or foreign object is visible, close the back door of the printer.

Next, let's take a look at the Input Tray. (We have already taken out the print cartridge.)
Lift the Tray 1 roller cover, grasp the jammed paper or foreign object, and slowly pull it out of the printer. Please refer to the image below.
jas247_28.gif
If no jammed paper is or foreign object is visible, open Tray 2 and see if a paper is visible. Again remove it slowly with both hands. Please refer to the image below.
jas247_29.gif
Close Tray 2.
If no jammed paper is visible in the second tray area, pull down the upper media guide (we have already taken out the print cartridge). With both hands, grasp the jammed paper and slowly pull it out of the printer. Please refer to the image below.
jas247_30.gif
Close the upper media guide and return back the print cartridge. Please refer to the image below.
jas247_27.gif

These steps should clear out any jams that you are experiencing.
Connect back the power cord again and turn on your printer. You should be able to print now.

Thanks for using FixYa. Keep me posted.

How to clear paper jam?

How to clear the jam depends on where the jam is.

If the Jam is in Tray 1:
1. If you can see the jammed sheet, remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
2. If you cannot see the jammed sheet, open the tray 1 door and pull out tray 2.
3. Push down on two tabs to release the tray 1 panel.
4. Remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
5. Push up on two tabs to replace the tray 1 panel.
6. Replace tray 2.

If the Jam is in Tray 2:
1. Pull out tray 2 and place it on a flat surface.
2. Remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
3. Replace tray 2.
4. Press OK to continue printing.

If the Jam is in the Fuser area:
1. Open the rear door.
2. Remove any jammed sheets.
3. Close the rear door.

If the Jam is in the Output Bin:
1. Look for jammed paper in the output bin area.
2. Remove any visible media
3. Open and then close the rear door to clear the message.

It is possible that the paper may tear when clearing the jam. Be sure to clear any paper fragments that tear off.

Jam in bin

this is a common fault. look where the paper was jammed, you may need a torch. There is a black or white sensor there that has been dislodged. Once clipped back into place it will then report to the printer that the paper path is clear and no longer a jam.

How to clear paper jam in output bin

The printed page comes through the hot fuser at the top of the printer, through the exit rollers an end up in the exit bin.
We cleared a massive paper jam out of the fuser, by removing the grey surround on top of the printer. The plastic hooks that hold it in place get broken in the process, then you will the jammed paper between the fuser rollers, and the exit rollers. A technician can do it for you, but is unessersarly costly.
