Nordictrack 5.7 buttons don't work

It sounds like you have one of two things happening.
The first is a small short in the wiring, in which case, you need a new one. The second is almost as bad, your unit needs adjustment, which is probably cheaper and easier to buy a new unit on e-bay or amazon.

Most buttons (all but incline 6 through 12) on my C900i stopped working all of a sudden. Long story short... it was the ribbon cable connections on the back of the control panel. Its 6 screws to get the panel off, and then 10 screws to open the panel. Cut the zip tie so the connection wires can be pulled through the hole in the back panel cover. And then take the iFit module off after you open the panel to allow fully removing the cover. The little white piece on the ribbon cable connectors slides up to allow the cable to slip out. Search youtube if you've never dealt with ribbon cables/connectors - they're very common in electronics. You can also search for how to clean the cables. In my case, simply disconnecting/reconnecting was all I had to - this fixed every button on my panel.

adjust the Reed SWITCH, see the diagram attached it. Clean it, test it of open or faulty. Tight the connector very well. Replace and clean the contacts batteries( if they have).
Tight the ribbon cable inside.
If the problem persist, after you did, replace control display board

1) Adjust the reed swithc, see the diagram attached, clean, and tight the connector.
2) Tight the ribbon cable from keypad ,tight the display board connector vs lower board.
3) After you did this, run the software calibration for diagnose, troubleshootign in according with the instruction manual.

1) Check the sensor reed switch see the diagram by 1/8"

2) use the calibration software for easy diagnostic and fix it. see your owner manual and go under the hood for instruction step.

3) exchange the battery by new ones for console.
4) Measure the input 115vac for motor without load
5 Test the main motor board for output +5vdc for Display board.

1) Try to reconnect the plug between console and pcboard very well.
2)Clean the contacts with special contact cleanear( radio schack or computer store) with carefully only the buttons, if you can open the cover better.
3) adjust the Sensor SWITHC.
4) Look for any wire loose, or making bad contact, or break wiring( continuity) test the fuse and breaker.

If after you did those steps, and the problem persist, the console board is faulty.but first change the sensor switch, you must be shure after adjustment.

The NordicTrack is a treadmill designed for in-home use. It offers a speed range of 0 to 10 mph and an incline range of 0 to 10 percent. It folds up vertically to save space when you aren't working out and can be rolled to a different room. The console has 16 preset workout programs and features iFit interactive technology. If you have problems with the console or walking belt, you can often fix them yourself with some basic troubleshooting steps
Instructions

1. Power Turns Off When You're Using the Treadmill
   • 1 Check the reset switch on the bottom of the treadmill near the power cord. If it has tripped, the top of the switch will protrude. Wait 5 minutes then press the switch.
     
   • 2 Check that the power cord is plugged in completely. If it is plugged in, unplug it, wait 5 minutes then plug it back in.
     
   • 3 Remove the magnetic key from the console then reinsert it.
     
   The Console Won't Turn Off
   • 1 Insert the magnetic key into the console. Your C2500 is stuck in demo mode if the console won't turn off after you remove the magnetic key from the console.
     
   • 2 Hold the "Stop" button down for a few seconds.
     
   • 3 Press the "Speed" down (-) button. Remove the magnetic key.
     
   The Incline Does Not Change Correctly
   • 1 Press and hold the "Stop" and the "Speed" up (+) button. While holding the buttons, insert the key into the console, then release the buttons.
     
   • 2 Press either the "Incline" up or down arrow button. Wait while the incline raises and lowers. This recalibrates the incline system.
     
   • 3 Remove the key from the console.
     
   Walking Belt Slows
   • 1 Unplug your C2500 and remove the key from the console.
     
   • 2 Turn both rear adjustment bolts, located on the back of the walking deck, to the left, a 1/4 turn.
     
   • 3 Lift the edge of the walking belt in the middle of the deck. You should be able to lift it 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform. If the belt is still too tight, loosen the bolts another 1/4 turn each.
     
   • 4 Plug the treadmill in and reinsert the console key. Walk on the belt at a slow speed to see if it still slows. Repeat Step 2 if necessary.
     

1. Turn Off printer, cable power still plug in.

2. Press Stop/Reset button, don't release the button.

3. Press Power button by holding without release and than release Stop/Reset Button.

4. Press Stop/Reset button two times (2x) now release the Power Button.

5. Wait until service mode to zero (0).

6. Turn off the Printer, cable power still plug in.

7. Press Stop/Reset button, don't release it.

8. Press Power button don't release & than release Stop/Release button.

9. Press Stop/Reset button four times (4x), wait until service mode to "1"

10. Turn off printer, and loose cable power, wait for one (1) minute.

11. Connect cable power, turn on printer again, now this printer ready to use.

I have the same issue I don't think anybody (including the supposed "experts") really know what they are talking about. The buttons work until they don't and then a bunch of them all stop functioning at once. The advice I always get is "replace the console" which amounts to saying "I don't know what's wrong" If I had to guess I think a static discharge has damaged the contoller board which doesn't manifest itself until the machine (and hence the board) warms up. Anyhow I haven't found a real solution to this issue if anyone has any real knowledge please post your solution.
