Soyo Flat Screen TV Sound or Volume control is stuck

When I turn on the TV, the sound immediately starts increasing until the volume is at the maximum. If I push the volume down, it responds but when I quit pushing the volume button, it immediately goes right back up. Also, the source keeps changing without me hitting any buttons.

    Thanks for the reply.

    1. The remote is not the problem. I removed the batteries from it to make sure and the TV still did it.

    2. No cleaning and I took off the back panel blew all dust out.

Also, I've figured out how to temporarily fix the problem. I turn on the TV and the sound immediately starts going up so I use the remote and push mute, then I immediately un-mute the TV and it sticks on whatever volume it was last on.

    Possibly the TV is possessed:)

Hi deborah card, Lets first make sure your remote is not causing your problem, Look at the light (led) on the remote, is it lit and pulsing? If not you are having a problem with the control panel,  Have you recently cleaned your tv with a liquid? If so you will need to dry the panel with a hairdryer, unplug the power from the tv, put it on low heat and hold it about 6 inches from the panel for a few minutes. With the tv still unpluged press all buttons on the panel a few times then plug back in and try it.  Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution.   lone99star

Volume/sound will not increase up on my Samsung HL61A650

If the volume indicator appears and respond as you increase the volume but the sound does not respond, there might be a problem on the audio section.Ask for a repairman to check it. If the indicator does not respond, try using manual control instead of using remote control. Also some units have features to turn speaker off or on. Go to menu scan for audio check if it is turned off or on.

Dynex t. v. the volume control button increases

Make sure this is happening from two sources such as a dvd player and a gaming system as well. If it happens from two sources the speakers are more than likely not working or the sound board will need to be replaced. A cheap way of getting around a repair is by getting a surround sound and running a cablebox, dvd player, and/or your gaming system directly to the surround sound system using it for sound instead of the tv.

Samsung TV - have sound/auto volume set to on. When TV is turned off and then on, tv volume is extremely low. Go back to sound menu, it shows "on" but if you go back and act like you are turning in on, the...

Hello Blindrid,
What I would suggest you do is Press your MENU button on the tv remote, Then down to SOUND and then Turn the AUTO VOLUME to OFF. Then come out of the menu screen.
Just to check that it has all work correctly. turn you volume upto a certain number for example 25
Then turn your TV off the turn it back on. Wait until it is displaying a picture then press the volume button Once either up or down and you should see that it will go to 24 or 26 depending on what button you pressed for the volume. This will keep your volume set to whatever you had it on before you turned the tv off.

Hope this Helps Please leave a thumbs up.

Cheers

Volume won't turn down

Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.
