Initially, our KSCS25INSS was delivered with a defective freezer door. The factory failed to install the inner working for the water and ice dispenser. The initial fix was to replace the door which was done. However since then, although the water dispenser works fine and the unit makes ice, the ice cube tray does not keep the ice cold enough so it "melts" just a bit so that all the cubes are stuck together making it impossible to get ice through the door. In fact the only way to get ice is by chipping cube free. In addition we have significant ice build upbetween the ice cube holder and the freezer door. The ice build up is so sever that every 2-3 weeks I have to melt and chip it way. We have had this issue looked at a few times, but not of the fixes have worked. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.
Check and make sure you door seal is tight. Take a dollar bill and place it between the door jam and gasket, close the door and then pull the bill slowly out. It should be rather tight all the way around. So you will have to do several checks all the way around the door. If you have a bad spot call and have them either replace the gasket or adjust the door. The other thing you can do (I have found most if not all manufacturers require this) empty your ice maker once a week. The problem comes from your refer being a self defrost. There is a heater coil that gets as hot as a range element to defrost the evap coil. It is the defrost cycle that causes the ice to melt down a bit. And the defrost cycles every 12 to 24 hours causing the cubes on top to melt down some. So as your bucket fills whatever was on top melts a bit and by the time you are ready to use several layers may be melted causing them to stick together.

2 year old maytag side by side. Power is on, but no cooling or freezing. Cleaned the bottom, back, all over the place, no dust, almost like new. Is there a reset switch or am I in BIG trouble with this thing., Thank you
