Samsung HLP5063W 50" DLP Projection TV has a 3 inch black band

After I replaced the lamp with a bulb sent to me by an authorized Samsung repair center, I now have a 3 inch black band on both sides of the picture on regular channels. Sometimes it goes all the way around the picture. The HD chanels are fine and also when we play a DVD the picture is fine. Is there a reset on the service menu for this?

I have a Samsung DLP, model hlp5063w. When I turn it on, the picture comes on and a few seconds it kicks off. After a few more seconds, it turns back on. It keeps turning on and off until I unplug it. Any...

2 most common causes of that sympton would be

1. Lamp failure is the most logical culprit BP96-01403a is the lamp number and I recommend only using an OEM replacement

2. Color wheel malfunction. Usually when the wheel fails you will hear a very loud motor spinning sound from within the tv.

If you havent replaced the bulb in a couple years that would be the most logical cause.

I have a 50 inch samsung hlp5063w when i turn tv on lamp light on front blinks

Have you replaced your lamp before? If so you might be starting to get issues with what might be the ballast, but if you haven't replaced the lamp, I recommend you do it since it might have reached the average life time they have.

Hlp5063w 50'' DLP samsung Experiancing The Word LAMP green letters flashing for 20 second followed by clicking noise then shut off.. then repeats that same process twice then TIMER / STANDBY/TEMP/LAMP...

Sounds like you've already gotten into the repairs. The three major things that fail on DLP are the bulb, the ballast and the color wheel. If your bulb is new and you aren't getting anywhere, replace the ballast, if that is still a no go, then move on to the color wheel. If replacing those three doesn't fix the problem, you will have to whip out the multimeter and start looking for problems on the PSB. You can get a ballast on ebay for about $100. Start there. The color wheel should be very freely moving. If something is grinding and hindering the movement at all, you need to replace it. That grinding may not seem like much but it is likely enough to keep the wheel from spinning at proper speeds. The sensor then kicks in and tells the brain that there is a problem and the brain keeps the ballast from firing the lamp.
Good luck.

Hlp5063w 50'' projected samsung lamp won't come back on ?

It could be the lamp but don't overlook the lamp door interlock switch. If the lamp door is not aligned properly, you may have intermittent shutdown or no start conditions. You can temporarily cross the interlock switch to confirm that this is the cause.

Samsung 50" DLP Lamp died, new lamp will not light`

Bad news.  Mine did the same thing.  Mine is the 61", but the internals are basically the same.  I replaced the lamp and the problem was fixed.  Then after a couple days, it died again.  I replaced the ballast, to no avail.  Took it to the certified repair center and they said I needed a new DLP Light Engine.  They wanted $1250 to fix it, but I was able to order one online from partstore.com for $700 and fixed it myself.  No problems since.
Your certified repair center will charge a minimal fee to diagnose and then you can fix it yourself if you choose.
The easist fixes for the lamp problems are A) replacing the bulb and B) replacing the ballast.  Anything else, you'll want a certified tech to diagnose the problem.
