I just got a new 4th generation ipod for Christmas and I can not figure out how to turn it off. I try holding the play/pause button like the manual says and the screen darkens as if it was in a sleep mode. As soon as you touch any button or shake it in any way the srceen lights back up. I have been locking it after attempting to turn it off, but the ipod is never fully turned off. My sister who also got the same ipod just different color has the same problem. So I don't know if it is suppose to do this or if there is something wrong. Please help if anyone knows what to do!!!!!!
No there is nothing wrong. This is normal, after you turn it off by pressing the hold/pause button switch it into the locked position. When you take the lock off and press anything it will come back on exactly where you left it. Don't worry it is not faulty. it is supposed to do this.
I hope this helps
This is supposed to happen. But another way of turning it off is in Settings, Main Menu, choose sleep and when you click on that your iPod will turn off, then lock it.
It is supposed to do that. What I recommend is for you to do what you do (play/pause) and then put it on hold. But once you need it on, take it off hold.
