My inverter keeps flashing power to overload low battery

I need help solving this problem. Quick overview my sister has a early model pick up that doesn't have heat in it. I had a small desk heater that has these specs ( 120v 60Hz 200 watts ). The inverter powered this heater for about 5 minutes and then the inverter started beeping and alternating from power to overload low battery. she said she smelled something like burning wires but I have the unit apart and can't find anything wrong. I have wired it directly to a spare battery I have and plugged in several things that it still powers but it will not power the 200watt heater anymore. Any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.

SOURCE: Does item have a fuse? Burned out

i have the same one ...and i'm not seeing a fuse, there may be one internally
does the inverter have strong "burnt wire" smell if so it is probably fried.

SOURCE: No power output from my vector 1000w inverter.

Sounds like a ground issue,Try this,Take the jumper cables and hook just the neg clamp tho the battery and the other end to the case of the inverter for a direct ground and see if that works..

SOURCE: Overloaded my inverter -now only works when hooked to car battery

It sounds like the fuse that protects you cigarette lighter is blown.

After you have replaced the fuse, check the voltage again. 0.015vdc would not have powered anything that in manufactured to operate on 12vdc.

When powering anything over about 250W, I would suggest connecting directly to the battery to avoid overloading the lighter circuit.

SOURCE: Vector vec 051D 3000 watt fan won't run anymore, unit overheats

your inverter needs to cool at all times , if the fan does not work, try buying a small standing fan to blow cool air to you machine, it is possible that your heater is making the inverter to over heat please avoid using the heater on the inverter

My inverter is showing overload and battery low at same time when light power cut.

Did you recently any new device to the inverter if you have added calculate the total power usage by the devices and the total power provided by the inverter maybe it's not matching, or there can be leaking in the powerline .
Check the charging led is blinking when the power comes back
Check the battery voltage also if more than one battery may be one battery is faulty or the charging circuit is damaged

Xantrex inverter error codes

This information expands upon the error code information contained in the Link 2000 Owner?s Manual.
E-01 Inverter high DC/Battery voltage shutdown Battery voltage has risen above 15.5 VDC for 12-volt models or 31 VDC for 24-volt models.
E-02 Inverter low DC/Battery voltage shutdown Battery voltage has dropped below 10 VDC for 12-volt units or 20 VDC for 24-volt units.
E-03 Inverter or Charger overtemp shutdown Unit will reset automatically after it has cooled sufficiently.
E-04 Battery overload Caused by excessively discharged batteries. See section in inverter owner?s manual titled ?Charging overdischarged batteries.?
E-05 AC Backfeed AC power from an outside source has been fed to the AC output of the inverter. Potentially damaging to the unit. Disconnect incoming AC power and correct the situation.
E-06 Electronic Overload Inverter overload caused by too large a load or a short circuit. Reset by cycling power switch or connecting incoming AC power.
E-07 Triac control error Triac has overheated. Shut down unit and allow to cool.
E-08 High battery voltage shutdown during charge mode Check all charging sources for proper voltage. Reset by cycling the power switch.
E-09 Spare
E-10 Link 2000 de-powered This indicates that power was removed and restored to the Link 2000.
E-11 Spare
E-12 Battery #1 voltage sense leads open Blue wire is not connected to battery #1.
E-13 Battery #2 voltage sense leads open Violet wire is not connected to battery #2. E-14 Inappropriate Charged V selected for sensed voltage This value defaults to 13.2 for a 12-volt system, 26.4 for a 24-volt system. If this setting is above the voltage limits of the charging source, this error code will be displayed. Please refer to page 9 of the Link 2000 Owner?s Manual
E-15 Incoming AC polarity reversed Check incoming AC wiring for a reverse polarity condition.
CCC Indicates battery being charged. Displayed when Time remaining is selected. LO BAT More than 50% of declared capacity of battery 1 or battery 3 has been consumed.
OL Meter reading out of range U xx Designates a user setup CEF. Please read the sections pertaining to CEF on pages 19?22. A Designates Alternator output current on a Link 2000-R. is a number from 1?200. P Indicates Percent of charge mode selected. is a number from 1?100.

How do I fix or reset my inverter?

Low input voltage or current.
Bad input voltage sensor.
Test by connecting directly to battery (with jumpers or make an adapter). The wiring or connection to your power port (cigar lighter) may be bad.

If it works at the battery, it is the car wiring. If not, it will cost more than the 25 dollar price tag to have it repaired. Just replace it (tryhttp://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=inverter )

I already replce the new battery that also is showing in overload pls solve that problem

UPS in overload. Try removing some of the attached devices one at a time to determine which on is causing the overload... it may also be a combination of devices causing the overload.

Overload indicator comes on without any appliance attached

The battery may be new- but how much charge does it have? The inverter has a high and low battery warning.

If the inverter has no load upon it, it may see the battery potential as high. so if you put a load on it such as an incandescant lamp, in parallel to the inverter, and as an inverter load it should circumvent the warning. Then it is a matter of fine tuning the setup.
