Answered

Error Code 2881 will not work

While filming, error code 2881 came up. I put in new dvd, etc. Still this code comes up no matter what I do and I cannot use my camera.

Error code 2881 means that the disc is unrecognizable by the device, either because the disc ia damaged, the incorrect format, the wrong type, or the laser reader is damaged. If the laser is damaged then it must be serviced. All the other options cam be fixed by buying another disc or formatting on a computer.

Hi,

I had a similar problem - I replaced with a compatible DVD and the problem was solved. it is because Hitachi DZ-MV550E only records on DVD-R / DVD-RAM. Just check this.

I put mine in the shop it is the laser and it cost $219.00 for the part because it comes in an assemlby piece it depends on how much they charge for labor. I choose not to fix due to high cost of it all it is in a bag besid emy computer

    hey i found an on another websight that if you use only sony handy cam dvds it will work after i put mine in the shop and they told me it was toast and it works fine now

What is error code no.2881?
Hi.
First of all make sure the dvd in in the right way...the side that does not have writting ( ie: the discs i have have a purple side, that is the side that gets burned) that faces to the inside of the camera.

If first one doesnt work then you need to change the file format from mpeg to dvd - download AVSvideo convertor and this will change your camcorder film to a format that will burn onto a dvd disc.

Hi,


Found error in image file, Error Occurred, error 0901, 572, 2881
The camera says found error in image file, repair data now. When you press yes it says "Error occurred. Please replace disc." or use ac adapter/charger, turn off power. It won't let you go to Disc Navigation to finalize it. While recording video on DVD-R media the battery power may have failed and camera shut off. When turned on the message shown on the lcd is Found error in image file, Error Occurred, error 0901.

Well Im going through the same thing and no one can seem to figure out what is going on. Ive tried all sorts of disc including a DVD-RAM Video 60 and Im still getting the same Error #2881 Code.

I found this problem only when I tried to use a RW disk. The camera will not use a rewritable disk. I reformated the disk in my computer but it still would not work in the camera.
