Locate the push-button LED switch on the alarm box under the driver's side dash. The small red or black button is used to manually disable the alarm.
Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position. This activates your vehicle's battery, but doesn't start the engine. Press and hold the push-button LED until the LED light stops blinking. Once the LED stops blinking the alarm is disabled until you manually reset the alarm.
Start the car. Then, press and release the push-button LED switch once, to reset the alarm.
Open the door and remove the fuse box cover at the bottem of the A post. You might have to remove more of the plastic trim and take a positive lead from a battery to the red stud and take the black earth to the body this will power the boot.
I just had a buzzing sound happening on my 2000 Monte Carlo. It was coming from the Hazard button which is actually combination blinker\hazard switch in one. Turns out the ignition switch was going bad. The ignition switch finally went totally bad (no start some times). Changed it a couple of months ago. No issues with blinkers again.
starter solenoid.take battery an battery box out.solenoid is an inch round diameterand bout 3inches long with positive lead to battery and to the starter. if you want u can jump staft from tbe battery to th ztarter on the bottom front of the motor.you need to check your regulator rectifier bolted to the back of the battery box.withe fins on it about 4inches square . lots of wires go to it.these become faulty and cook your battery and starter solenoid.hope this helps.you can push start it [email protected]
Sounds like a dead battery to me. To make certain, use a volt meter and connect it across your battery, red lead to positive, black lead to negative. Press the starter button, if he voltage drops below 10 volts, your battery is kaput.
Or, if you don't have a volt meter, take the battery to an automotive parts store and ask them to load test it for you. They'll usually do this at no charge.
Listen near the solenoid while trying to start--if you get a fairly loud 'click', the primary circuit is ok, but the solenoid heavy contacts are not making--repair or replace the solenoid if sealed. If no click, check the small terminals with a test light. The light should go out on one when the start switch is pushed. If the light never comes on, check the other small terminal--it should be lit at all times whenever the ignition switch is on, even when the start switch is pushed. If it goes out too, there is a poor connection between the ignition switch and the solenoid. If neither terminal loses power, trace the start button circuit back to the solenoid. It is likely open somewhere between--usually a push-together connection. Hope this make sense and helps!
