How to modify Danco handles to work on Valley II faucets

I have Valley II Y28405-74 wide set faucets throughout my home. Valley is OOB and replacement handles for same are available from Danco, however, the Danco handles do not have the molded in piece that comes down to hit the "stop" molded into the faucet stems so that the handle stops turning when the water is shut off. Is there someway to "modify" the Danco handles so that they will stop turning when they are in the right position for the water to be shut off?

Do not modify the handles, just buy the pieces missing. they are available through Danco. Even though i prefer using original parts.

HOW DO YOU ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL A DANCO 9S-4H/C

Turn off the water supplying the faucet. Now open the faucet. Remove handle by taking off index button and removing screw. You may need to purchase a handle puller, 10-15 dollars, and a stem wrench set. After removing handle, place appropiate sized wrench on stem and turn counter clockwise. Before installing stem, make sure it is in the open position. You may need to use the handle to turn the new stem. Screw in clockwise.

Sometimes on the stems on the side the handle attaches is a nut that can be tightened. Inside this nut is a rubber or other type of seal. tightening this nut stops the water from coming out of the handle. If the nut has already been tightened then possibly need to replace this rubber seal.

Replaced danco cartridge 88198 three times. only

Danco is an after market faucet parts company that recreates parts cheap for hardware supply chains and such. You would be ahead to try and find the brand of faucet you are trying to repair and get OEM parts. They will probably cost a little more, but will hold up a lot better. I hope this helps.

Looking for cartridge for Tuscany Brass Tub Faucet Single Handle appears to be Ceramic Disk Type

While there are several cartridges that look similiar to what you have posted, Danco it self is an aftermarket parts replacement business. From my point of observation, your posted pic is of a Delta stem which visually has some distinctive attributes. Most every thing Danco makes is a copy or OEM replacement part packaged under their name.

Thae stem you got that said hot/cold were designed to fit old style cross handle faucets. So both hot and cold turned the same way. If the cold side you are replacing turns the opposite direction then you will need to get a cold stem. Danco does make them. Ask the retailer where you purchased the H/C stem. I hope this helps..

Get some Lock-tight formula to apply to the screw. Let it dry a few minutes after application. Naturally, after application of the solution, you have tightened the screw to its maximum. Do not be concerned about ever removing the screw as the material will loosens when you apply manual force.

DANCO brand generic hose not connecting to supply

You have to buy a Genuine Delta Part because Delta uses a proprietary quck connect fitting at the end of the hose.

Valley II lav. faucets new handles do not have ''stops''

Check with a local plumbing supply or decent hardware store (Ace) to see if they have handle inserts that will do the job. Don't know about Danco handles but I sourced some for another brand that worked well.

Good luck.
