SOURCE: I was trying to transfer

Usually in any type of situation when data is being transferred and the connection is prematurely lost there is data lost and or file corruption.

My suggestion:

Connect the Boss Rc 50 to your computer and backup its entire contents to your computer if possible.

Next perform a Hard Reset: While simultaneously holding down the "PLAY MODE" and "LOOP SYNC" buttons, turn the power on. Everything should be restored to factory settings.

If your backup was successful, then you can transfer desired files (one at time) to determine if the are usable. If a file causes errors or malfunction, then most likely it is corrupt.

Hope this helps

Rc-50 recording silent wav files

Perhaps your computer's sound card is unable to play back at the bit rate and kHz you are recording at on your (mobile?) recorder. I'm not familiar with the RC-50 but if you are recording at 24 bit for example and your computer's sound card is only able to play back at 16 bit it may not reprosuce any sound. Usually you will get an error saying so. Have you tried different playback software?

Memory full

Try doing a factory reset by following the instructions in the manual. It's the quickest and easiest way to "clean the slate" and only requires a few simple steps.

I was trying to transfer data from the RC-50 to my computer and pulled out the USB cable by mistake from the computer and now the RC-50 says Data Damaged. I think I may have put the file in the trash in...

My Boss RC-50 has stopped working. I used the power chord for my RC 50 in my Boss OC 3 pedal and then tried using the chord in my RC 50 again and it won't work. It won't even work with other power...

CHeck the voltage out of the adapter. It should be around 9 to 11 volts. If it is not, it is possible that the OC3 has reversed polarity AND a protector that put a short on an incorrect supply. If so, it could have damaged the RC50 adapter. If the RC50 adapter is putting out correct voltage, then I suspect the inout connector on the RC50 may be damaged or not quite seated. Visually inspect the connector first.

I cleared one folder called WAVE with my computer and now there´s a messege on screen "data damage". the folder contains the preseted sounds inside. i need help.

Here's a hunch:
When the RC-50 was hooked up, your computer had access to the internal memory. The WAVE directory is where the wave data is stored. The RC-50 must have noticed that the wave data for patches that were supposed to have data was in fact gone.

So, you can probably just do a factory reset:
With the power off, while holding both single/multi and loop-sync, power the RC-50 up until it greets you with SYSTEM/PATCH use the PARAMETER buttons to go back and forth. In your case, you can probably leave "SYSTEM" alone and just select PATCH. Once you've selected which section of the RC-50 you want to reset, hit the WRITE button.

The Sustain pedal does not work.

When push comes to shove, a factory reset never hurts.

Assuming you'd like to proceed with a factory reset, follow these steps:

This procedure makes it possible to restore the S08 to the original factory-installed Internal Voices, Multis and System settings.

WARNING: The current settings for all Multis and User Voices will be deleted. If the current settings and data are not expendable, create a backup before executing the Factory Reset.

1) Press the [UTILITY] button.

2) Press the [JOB] button. The 'FactorySet' screen will be displayed.

3) Press the [ENTER] button. The 'Sure?' message prompt will appear.

4) Press the [INC/YES] button to execute the Factory Reset. The 'Completed!' message will be displayed to indicate the procedure has been successfully executed.

5) Press the [EXIT] button to return to the Utility Mode.
