Decalcify My machine has a message on it - Decalcify ready for use. I have checked my manual and it has no reference to decalcify. Can anybody help me! I have the same promblem. The solution posted above will probably work --- it would be preferable if the SAECO folks provided the solution rather that one provided by a user. It would give me greater confidence.

I have a Jura Impressa J9 but there is no Descale or Decalcify option to choose

If your machine is not displaying the descale or decalcify option, you can try forcing it into descaling mode. To do this, press and hold the rotary switch until "RINSE" is displayed. Briefly press the rotary switch again until "RINSE" lights up. Turn the rotary switch until "DECALCIFY" is displayed. Product Support - JURA

Jura E8 decalcify message even though using filter. Scrolled through menu cannot find filter section. Do I decalcify? or how to get rid of message? Is there something wrong with the machine?

The filter does not remove minerals from the water, so the boiler builds up mineral deposits. Only way to slow that down is to use distilled water. Even then you will get msg periodically. YES, decalcify.

Hi
I am assuming that you have a digital machine. If so, you have to go into the menu and go to "Reset Descale", push the enter button and choose "Yes" and push the button again. Then you can exit the menu and it should be gone.

I am having trouble starting the decalcify program, even though the light blinks "ready/decalcify"

Had the same problem, i noticedt that there is a procedure to run decalcify anytime in the instructions book.

Turn off the machine, press Rinse button until it says Empty Tray then go go Step 2 in the instructions.

Machine is displaying "Decalcify" message; I do not know how to do this

I believe the machine is telling you that it has already ran through the decalcification proceedure, and that it is ready for use.

when the descale cycle is finished close the knob.
rinse the water tank out with fresh water and fill it will clean drinking water.
Press the same button on the bottom right to confirm that yo are doing the rinse cycle.

What does Decalcify mean?

You can download the manual for free. Search for the manual.

If you want to decalcify, then you need to get decalcifying solution. The button with two circles is the decalcify mode. Press that, and the unit will go through it's automatic decalcify. There is a specific procedure to best decalcify superautomatic machines. Please search for that.

After this is done, the decalcify message will not appear. It is on a preset schedule, not an actual measurement of how much scale is in the machine.

Although you don't have to decalcify, it is recommended, especially if you live in an area with hard water.
